Take a look at the ending in the Lakers/Spurs game...Game all but winding down and for no reason what so ever the ref blows the whistle and gives the ball back to the Spurs...They shoot a 3 (Turkolu of all people lol) throws up a prayer and it sends it OVER by 1...

Basketball refs control totals and make big money doing so, there is no doubt in my mind....Since when does a game with one team up by 25-30 points have a scoring frenzy in the 4th qtr? This never happens! And the ending was very suspicious...

If the refs wanted the over, there would have been more than 8 free throws shot in the 4th quarter. Nothing suspicous about this one.

You don`t realize how easy it is to control a basketball total? come on lol...

This was not the greatest example but the last foul was ridiculous...the Lakers about to dribble it out at half court and they call some sortive foul on the dribbler...very peculiar...and Turkolu of all people nails a 3 ...not saying the fix was in here but its so easy for the ref to decide what type of game to call...I am positive some refs in College and NBA have betting accts.

I think they'd be better off playing teasers and halfs, less likely to get caught.

So there plan was to call no fouls for the first half and have them be forced to score 109 points in the second half to squeak out a 1 point win?

Are you for real?

Yeah, funny way to fix a total I would say.

Amazing how people don't think before they speak.

I love it when people say the fix was in when they lose a bet,the refs bet,the coach bet etc etc. except the fact you lost and just move on.

Sportsadvisory - I saw that game and it was surprising the Knicks even went to the line six times. They almost NEVER drove towards the basket. Meantime, Payton kept penetrating and dishing off to his teammates who were directly under the basket.

The Knicks were undersized and didn't drive to the bucket, while the Lakers were much bigger, more aggressive and scored the majority of points in the paint.

If you were the ref in that game and tried to 'even-out' the calls, you would have been run out of the gym.
