My mom who is 79 next month took a very serious fall about three weeks ago and for a while she was in serious condition with broken ribs and a serious hip and shoulder injury. Surgery was preformed and the last two weeks have been really tough on me. Last night they moved her to rehab after she made awesome strides in the last week and she might even be released next week. I guess what I'm saying is don't put gambling ahead of family as I and I'm sure many of you guys do, because until this happened I didn't realize how really unimportant gambling really is. Today I will take her a Thanksgiving dinner and enjoy her company this afternoon and for the first Thanksgiving in a long while the games will be an after thought. Happy Thanksgiving to all here at the Rx and to all your families. Later

Glad to hear that she is doing well. Enjoy her company. I lost my mom when I was 17, so I always feel good when I here that others cherish their parents and appreciate them. Happy Thanksgiving.

Harrington, good for you and best wishes to you and your mom.

My mom is 85 and will be going in for serious surgery in a few weeks but my son is bringing up here today and all I can say is that the games will be on with very little on them. Last year I was out of town and the year before I more or less ruined Thanksgiving for my entire family when I lost a huge chunk of bankroll on the Detroit game. The bankroll recovered but it took quite awhile for my family to recover from my stupidity. Please don't anyone put the games ahead of family today.

Good stuff Harrington.

There is never anything wrong with doing a little "check" and making sure that your priorites in life are in the right order.

I hope you are your mother (and everyone else here) have a great one.

Just got back from the hospital and I have to say this was one great Thanksgiving. Just watching mom have her dinner and making her laugh was enough to make this day special. Thanks guys for all the warm words and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
