I love this show. I rented episodes 1-16 of last season this weekend.

I highly recommend this series. It occurs in realtime and this premise is that the CTO (Counter-Terrorism Organisation, part of the US govt) has 24 hours (24 episodes, 1 hour each) to complete their mission.

Anyone else watch this?

i heard it is awesome. BTW, all of my life I had this distorted perception that Kiefer was an asshole. He just seemed like a prick to me. Boy, was I wrong. I met him in Las Vegas a year ago at the Hard rock Casino, and he was one of the nicest guys i have ever met. People have also told me that 24 is a great show. I need to check it out.

1st season...awesome...only saw a few episodes of the second season and it wasn't so good.

Lander-

If you liked the last season, check out the first. You will love it.

Lander-

I basically restrict my TV viewing to sports and movies but there were three shows a couple of years ago I had to see virtually every week, CSI, 24, and Six Feet Under. Since then I haven't been hooked to any program but I still watch CSI and Alias on occasion.

Get that 1st season of 24. That show was like a good book, you can't put it down. By watching season two first you ruined a couple of espisodes with recurring characters but you'll still enjoy it. Have fun.

The kid has the virus...he got it from Angelle in Mexico. "24" is a super show, but I thought the first season was a lot better than the current one. Too many character additions/changes..but it's still pretty good. Also check out the new show "The OC" Thought it would suck but it was great. At least watch it to check out Mischa Barton.

The first year was awesome (except for the occasional Hollywood style plot twists and dramatic devices that left me

)

I missed about half of last year but I had intended to watch every episode this year. So, I set the VCR for episode 2 as I was out that night and wouldn't you know it? ONE WOMAN WHO SHOULD BE MORE SORRY THAN SHE IS, MESSED UP THE VCR TRYING TO WATCH HER SHOW.

Note: those who haven't seen last night's episode, go no further.

Now that we are 3 episodes into this season I have a few nitpicks/cliches that irk me:

1. The hot headed agent who defies all orders but is still gainfully employed by CTU. Did they not perform any psychological tests on this bozo that may indicate a tendency to insubordination? Can't think of his name on the show but it's that goof who went to question Salazar. Also, he's the Einstein who thinks you can hear him shouting over the roar of a helicopter.

2. Kim Bauer - "I'm not leaving until you tell me what's in that box." Bitch slap her and tell her to get the fvck outta the way. I have an office to search.

3. Can't any criminal mastermind devise SOME kind of holding cell that is ESCAPE-PROOF?????? Just post a guard with instructions to NEVER open the door unless accompanied by 20 guys with shotguns. And don't fall for the sick stomach/need medication trick.

4. Why would prisoners kill off their only negotiating tool: hostages? Interesting angle but Deer Hunter it ain't.

One that bugged me from season 1 and it still gets my blood boiling

When Jack's wife and Kim are trying to escape and they drive down a country path just off the highway, the wife gets out and says "Wait here. I want to see if we lost them." AS IF!!!! Why the hell wouldn't you just keep driving, you moron??? Naturally the car slides off the road.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the show but I need to vent when they go cliche-o-matic on me.

I watched the first 4 of 6 disks for season 2, but Blockbuster never had disc 5. I went 5 days in a row and everytime they said it will be back tomorrow ...

finally the manager, on the 6th day, said 'oops, we don't have that disc'

lander, I missed much of the second half of last year and I don't really want to rent them so can you give me a quick synopsis? I left off after the bomb went off and Kim was with the mountain guy.

Does Jack get involved with the blonde (whose sister is with the terrorists)?
What happened to Palmer? and his devilish wife?
and his assistant or whoever she is (Ensign Roe from Star Trek TNG)?

I'm not far past that point.

After the bomb went off, they started to uncover a conspiracy that someone has been trying to frame the middle-east to start a war. They uncovered a conversation beween the terrorist Siad Ali and apparent other nations, but Siad swears it to be fabricated. Bauer believed him and argued with the president to get a few hours to prove it. Ali was soon afterwards killed by snipers while being transported.

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone

Rio,
I saw a commercial for the 2nd season on DVD, but I don't know about the 1st season or the current (3rd).

I'd guess so, since they have season 1 in Blockbuster too.
