I actually don't know much more than what I read in the forums, as far as their financial capacity is concerned.

I had about $7K with them 3 weeks ago when they were having the problems. I have since got several payouts from them, which have brought my balance down to $2,500.

I have made a few bets in the last week, and will probably leave this balance in the account to bet with. Whether this will prove to be a bad decision or not, I guess time will tell. I think the owner, Barry, is an honest guy, but who the hell really knows for sure ?

ibfm- First off, let me welcome you to the RX.

As far as SBT is concerned, they seemed to have weathered a tough storm a few weeks back. I personally had an account there, and have since withdrawn my money, or tapped out, cant remember which. Not planning on redepostiting until they stable off a bit. Enjoyed them when I was with them. I would go somewhere else in the meantime.

SBT might slow pay sometimes, but I know that Barry will pay absolutely everybody even if he closes the store.

He is a real bookie, what ever happens in the industry, wont matter, he will pay everybody.

I have been playing there for 6 months and no problems whatsoever. Timely payouts and a great lines to play at. Barry Clark has brought this operation a long way in a short period of time.

I'm posting this simply for information for ibfm - apparently SBT has cleared up their problems with some payouts being slow and half-paid, which is good news. The following was posted a while ago - point is, if I were thinking of joining them, I'd make sure they will pay out when you ask for the money according to their site rules, and not ask you to wait for it - IF that's important to you. Would like to see this book succeed ...

Guys, I've been playing with SBT for a few months. The first couple payouts (Neteller) were smooth as I remember them. But in the last couple month or so it's like pulling teeth. There's just no chance of getting paid without repeated requests done skillfully. It would typically go something like this: Make a 2500 Neteller payout request Monday morning. After hearing nothing, send an email Tuesday afternoon -- where's my cash? Receive email back that they would like to pay me by FedEx check instead. Email back that it has to be by Neteller. Reply would typically say they'll do their best. Probably by Thursday I receive a 1000 payout. Email SBT back about the remaining 1500. Reply back that they will do the rest when they have the funds. I ask approximately when that will be and am told usually they get postups on the weekend, so hopefully Monday. And so on. Incidentally, one of these times I received a partial payment, I never groveled for the rest and never received it. Payout requests are truly that at SBT -- REQUESTS. You have to followup and stay on them to get it all, and it's not usually all at once. This is a nutshell. This all happened not within the last 2 weeks but in the past 2 or 3 months. I am now fully extricated from SBT and plan to stay that way. They basically admitted to me on more than one ocassion that they rely on postups and reloads to make payouts.

I have no agenda here, just wanted to report my experience. Seems pretty clear that this book is tight on funds. Growing pains? Maybe. But sometimes painds precede death, not growth.

the only way i'd pay with SBT is if they assure
us that at all times players can take out 2500 per day through neteller .... and if neteller said that they just deposoted a large float, a couple a freinds of mine had similar experiences with sbt and instead of complaining they let their accounts dry up after getting slow paid...with the issues SBT has had a "rouge employee" and so on the only way they can really assure postups that they aren't on thin ice is an unusually large neteller float the post up business is different than credit which in large part is just a matter of trusting each others word. any post up with any problems paying anyones balance on demand is a disaster however honorable the owner of a book maybe.

Mr. Awesome Baby

I tell all my customers when signing up with my book that I pay a number of different ways..If Neteller is a option, then that is the way the customer will get paid..If it isnt..Then that customer can accept a # of different options..

Whatever option is the customers preferance, that is how restitution is made..Whatever the players asks for is then delivered..

I am not.."One Of The Big Boys"..and I dont pretend to be..I am hopeful one day to be in that category and I know that takes time and customer TRUST..

I had problems with a employee, and I have said that I take full responsibilty..I am not the first, or the last to make a internal bad judgement of character..

i have been with SBT for several months now and the only time I waited for apayout was when they were havng problems with this former employee. I did however recieve all the money that was requested by the end of the week and since that problem I was paid via neteller w/i a few hours.

Georgia, who works in CS over there is always there to answer my questions and in my opinion completely honest. She informed me that week that they were having problems but that I would recieve all that I requested, which like I said I did.

Thanks Barry for coming in here and always responding to questions and taking the heat at times, unlike many other sportsbook managers that have advertised at this forum.

Thanks for the kind words..

I also want to say that to be successful in any industry you have to be honest, trustworthy and available..In a environment like ours its tougher because there is no regulation..

Its like a treehouse..To gain entrance you shake a hand and give the other members your word of honor..Its like the key to get in is a handshake..The contract when someone posts up money is TRUST..

Trust is the intangeable..It grows with time..

Jazz and Bulldozer have done everything possible to undermine this operation. When asked of players of this forum 3 weeks ago to state if anyone has been slow or not payed, noone came forward. Yet SBR (John Walker) still has these guys as an F rating. This is as political as it gets. Give these guys a break... they are no less than a C rated book.

Boston1: BULLSHIT.

WTF do you call D2bets' post above? Others posted in that topic as well - would you like me to bump that topic, and one in which Mr. Clark, who has been extremely cordial throughout, acknowledged some problems HAD occurred due to a 'rogue' EX-employee???

I'm not interested in 'undermining' SBT - I am a PLAYER, I am not an OWNER and so I tend to be more skeptical towards the PLAYERS' point of view, and my posts were directed at finding out the truth.

Boston1, it's an attitude like yours that can blind people to rational and fair discussions. Until topics questioning what was happening at SBT were begun, the primary one actually started by a moderator here (Fishhead), we did not learn of this rogue employee who had caused problems.

No one, and certainly not me, has questioned the character of Mr. Clark. What was IN question was the payments.

I'm sorry if you don't like open and honest discussions, perhaps you'd prefer it if anything of a critical nature be buried?

And btw, Mr. Clark knows this kind of scrutiny comes with the territory - I haven't seen him whining about the questions, but rather answering them here and being quite amiable to boot.

Jazz,
All I am saying if SBT had a few slow payments over the last 6 months do they deserve an F rating? No Players came forward except the 2 that you mentioned that were slow paid. You seem to want to magnify the problems of these 2 slow pays and beat that dead horse to death. Yet you don't mention a peep about places like Little Nasa/Omni who will stiff you death if you win big. Get your priorities in order. By the way look at The Online Bet who has completely turned their operation around and paid all their players that were stiffed in the past. Give them some praise if you will.
