I asked in a different thread last week, but it fell through - I built a few prototype robots with AIM and MSN messengers to provide instant line access through IM.

I'd like to know if anyone thinks this would be a useful product to have integrated with the RX Live Lines (or other lines for that matter).

I quick brainstorming session with some respected books thought up the following functionalities that it could possess

- ability to shop for BEST line by Rot numbers
- customize YOUR books
- find contact info for books
- browse book specials
- check openers
and much more ...

Does anyone see a use for this?
If so, what features would you like to see?

Thanks.

lol, both male.

The AIM one was the old handle in my boss's name that I used to sexually harass the girls in HR with ... lol

The other was my using my old hotmail account.

Of course, we'd get some cheese robot names like "RobotLinePimp"

Pat, yes, that is similiar to what I'm talking about.

You'd add this bot to the buddy list & he'd be available to provide you with info (ie)

Pat : hello
Bot : Hello. Press 1 for lines 2 for info etc ...
Pat : 1
Bot : type the rotation number
Pat : 901
Bot : Best line -120 NYY @ Pinnacle

another scenario is where you set the watch ... say you want to know when GS goes to +12 ...

it sends you an IM when one of your books moved GS to 12.

Lander help me with this. So are you saying let's say I look at a game and would bet it if Pinnacle goes to -3, when the line hits that number it would send me an IM to let me know? Is that what you are talking about here? That sort of stuff that we can customize?

Only read a little on this stuff before. My partner dabbles in them and has them handling a large part of his stuff in another field. Similar to gambling. Anyway another guy I respected a hell of a lot (Machiavelli) had an article on his set up using bots too. Basically he was playing interactives and used bots that would automatically not only immediately recognize value but make the bet as well with the book. This was baseball if I recall correctly and after every pitch there is a new line available to be hit. His bots would hit it and continue to hit it if the # was weak. Over and over. He wouldn't have to do a thing. Obviously this isn't the exact same but is this what you are talking about? Would we able to customize our own bots? If so what all can they do for us? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I learn slow as hell on new things.

Great! Heck yeah why wouldn't a gambler want this stuff. I can come up with lot of ideas I'd like on this if it is possible. Can use it as some Spyder stuff too.

Just takes me a while to grasp new stuff and what all the capabilities are. Imagine Fred Flintstone trying to program a VCR and you get me trying to learn new stuff.

Pat,
lol ... I'm staying away from the 'commercial' spyders angle for the simple reason that it kills the books. My goals are to facilitate shopping without hurting either side and to take offshore into the information age where it belongs.

Moon,
Thank you very much for the compliment.

Angelle,
Can't I just post your AOL handle?

I'm sure you'd have more than enough cyberstalkers to keep you from getting bored .. lol

I think making settings that just show the books you use and the games you are interested in would be great. Having to look at the full card when you just want to bet one or two games is a hassle. Later on if you want to just see the scores of the games you have action on that would be a bonus as well.

The Live Line Service is fantastic lander. Thanks to you and all involved in making it happen. Any additions are appreciated. What Bill said would be cool if easy to do.

What I would like to see is more books available to see. Then each user could customize it so that the books he wants would be available on one screen. Mimtech has some nice ideas

Raider....excellent point

I have 1 request:

Can we please get rid of using RIO as the opening number. Would really like to see Pinnacle as the open, since 99% of books just clone off them anyway.

Thanks Square

when Don Best still had the freebie was the ability to go back one cycle at all the books. You could see what every shop's last number was and compare it to the current. Of course full history would be better but they dropped that a long time ago at DB freebie, before they dropped it entirely.
