To all:
We are currently under DoS attacks. We refuse to pay the extortion fee.
We do apologize for any inconvenience and we hope to be up soon. Our ISP is working steadily on the situation.
Our call center is fully functional and can be reached at 1-800-242-0650.

I don't mean to bust chops but why wait till you get attacked to protect yourself? With all the DDOS attacks as of late why do books wait till the last minute to protect their connection? Why not a little preventative maintaince?

We all know it is comming so why did you wait so long??

eh, I'm pretty computer illiterate but from what I understood it's pretty easy for these guys to hack in no matter what an ISP is planning. Then again, I may not have any idea about what I'm talking about.
Thanks for your understanding while we're in this situation.

I hear ya Justin but attacks can be avoided with the proper hardware and setup. Hollywood, Cris, Pinnacle, Grande, Rio, Tradewinds and a whole host of others fell victium and installed attack mitigators to protect themselves from this problem.

The book I work for went through the same thing early on so I feel your pain.

Eh is correct. It costs some money, actually several times more than the extortionists are demanding. But then you won't get hit in the future.

You can flip them the bird.

So buck up early and break out the check book.

exactly but the books has to have a few things in place for this to happen.

1. the techs to know that they can fend off attacks.

2. the book to spend the dough to put the hardware in place

Justin, I hope you guys can weather this..BUT

1. I think it's about 30K for a permanent hardware fix that will prevent this from happening again(and end the current one).

2. If you don't pay, and don't fix it-they appartently don't stop. Good luck getting your ISP down there to stop it.

Correct Sr Muny, they have the equipment but a missed config setting bit them in the ass. All they had to do was shake the techie outta bed and they are all good again.
