Make no mistake about it. Several people in the know told me he had 2 or 3 offers to buy BM but turned them all down. He was also taking post up just before he closed shop.

You are in the same league as Jeff pearson, Tej and the rest of the scammers.

I agree men. Also, if they killed all the posters who stiff others they would not have enough bullets in a machine gun.

This is why I am completely surprised with SBR's actions on all this. He KNEW this was coming almost to the day but decided to not make this information known. Best excuse I have heard from him was he didn't want to blow a possible buy-out of Blue Marlin? Are you kidding me. Apparently that was never the plan Reggie had. This is the exact reason if you are a forum designed to protect readers than do it, don't sit on information because you think it may be detrimental to the book! They are holding all the players post up money, they are plenty protected. All you did was let him pad his bankroll a little more at players expense. Yeah I know you will take a shot at us for having them here but I would never sit on definite information like you had, it's unexcusable in my mind.

It's painful hearing these stories from some who got taken in at the last moment when SBR knew the place was closing anyway. At the very least (even if you want to punish nonreaders of your site) put a plan in place with Reggie so that they do not accept any more post up money. You have the goods on him, make him agree or tell him you will do the right thing and warn everyone. AT LEAST do that! Bad move Buzz to sit and do nothing and I will not forget it. It's one thing to be incompetent but another to sit quietly and not have the balls to speak up when you do know something. We had them here as an advertiser but I'd have saved some of these people if I had the definite information you had instead of just saving some of your buddies. Not wanting a flame war but genuinely shocked to hear what you did. That mocking "guess you need to get out the KY jelly" to a guy who got stiffed showed me what you are about.

I don't see how dirt can be thrown at SBR. They issue ratings changes, that's what they do. The rating was changed three times on this book, I believe. I noticed it, others did too.

I hold securities that S&P has ratings on. They often change ratings. Sometimes items are marked down to "junk" status. They do not issue me a personal email saying "get out now". It's my responsibilty to review the ratings and make a decision.
So, as far as I'm concerned, let's put the blame where it's due and lay off the only site that said anything about this situation. If I remember correctly, anyone who posted any warning here was shouted down.

WONT HAPPEN...........Most of the PEOPLE that get caught when this happens, are PRO GAMBLERS, and part of thier risk when BONUS WHORING is getting stiffed..............SHIT HAPPENS, then they move on.

Do you really beleive someone is lookin to OFF someone over this? PLEASE...........

Sr Muny:

You're correct here...

Lot's of pros and scalpers were playing into BM.

That's an assumed risk these types of players take when they bet into shops like BM - kinda like buying junk bonds ( high interest vs high risk).

I have to agree with Hanover on this one. SBR had its information plainly in view.

11/12/03 BlueMarlin - lowered from D+ to D
11/09/03 BlueMarlin - lowered from C- to D+

I don't how you could ask for more.

Muny, I did not post that I was going to kill anybody nor did I lose any money at BM - I said that if you steal from 100's of people you eventually run the risk of something bad happening to you by someone you stole from - it only makes sense.

There is NO reason for talking about killing anyone. We played at a shit book and got burned. Joey is 100% correct here - there was one few reasons for playing at a shop like BM, they are scalps, bonuses and slow numbers. We all know the risks associated with these types of books.

Look in the mirror and take some responsibility fellas.

Exactly.....100% on the nose.

SBR takes a lot of shit about it's advertising stand(yeah, I know-it's bullshit & we all know it), but he was doing the right thing here.

No one KNEW that they were toast, but some did know that they were in potential trouble-which the rating cuts reflected.

No one has a crystal ball here, and a lot of people seem to have a problem comprehending that.

The best info that you get on the forums if from the people that you get to know. The forum owners have their hands tied 80% of the time....at least to some extent.
