Not this year...This team wins by the skin of its teeth more than any team, and the Sooners would crush them!

I hope USC or LSU can jump back over them..To atleast make the game more interesting, Ohio State would have trouble getting into the red zone vs OU let alone scoring!

I love the Bucs, but I believe they lose to Michigan so you have no worries.

Actually, if they go into Michigan and win, they have justification for the #2 spot. That is a very big IF though. Michigan definetly the better team and at home.

USC got fvckd last year when they were the best team, absolutely destroying everyone in their path the last half of the season.

This year it is so obvious they should be ranked No.2.

Ask yourself this, what would the line be for OhSt v. USC on a neutral field. My guess is USC -10.5 and I would jump on it.

People still hating the Buckeyes. I love it. All they did was win last year too.. and then They were about to play Miami.. " Oh god it's gonna be a blow out".. this and that.. 14 point dogs. I forgot what happened .. oh yeah, we won. If Ohio St wins saturday, which will be a hard task.. they deserve to defend their national title whether or not you think USC OU would be a better game. Tell USC to start playing a real schedule. It isn't our fault that they are in the weakest conference and we are in the best. Buckeyes have played 8 top 25 teams this year. and Michigan will make 9. (also have played 3 top 10 teams)

Here's hoping to a buckeyes win on saturday so I can see all of you whine and complain come monday

OhioSt is last year's Notre Dame, who everyone thought was a bargain at +13 against USC.

I'm not going to say USC will beat the NFL-Soon-ers, but don't make us laugh

Big difference this year Mr K... OU would roll OSU this year by atleast 28! I hear what your saying regarding last season but this OSU team is a weak #2....USC or even LSU would make for a better game...

I wouldn't count out OSU that quickly. They weren't any better down the stretch last year and won as a huge dog against a team that hadn't lost in almost 3 seasons. Give a good team with depth and a strong defense a month to prepare for one game and they can play with just about anyone.

My belief is that Michigan will handle Ohio St Saturday. However, if the buckeyes pull the upset over the Wolverines, they are certainly the deserving team. They win ugly, but still, they win.

It's amazing to me how much credit people give Oklahoma when they have an even weaker schedule than USC. They played absolutely nobody this year, and that includes Texas.

Who are they laying 50 to this week? If the Buckeyes happen to survive again this week they'll have no problem shutting OU down. Watch, it will be easier than Miami last year.

Once again people overlooking the Big Ten. If OSU some how gets by Michigan take OSU + the points against OKL in the Sugar Bowl.

Mr. Kennedy:
I hardly think that USC needs to defend its schedule, since last year they had the number 1 schedule in the country. It's not their fault that Auburn, Notre Dame, Washington and Arizona St. all played way below expectations. In any case the schedules are made 10 years in advance.

As far as Ohio State's awesome schedule is concerned, I hardly consider 8 home games out of 11, and a nonconference game with San Diego St. to be a great schedule. Incidentally Ohio St. failed to score an offensie touchdown against San Diego St.

Since USC has an open date next year as of now, I am sure that they would be more than happy to schedule the mighty Buckeyes.

Guys, OSU was definitely a better team last year vs. today - they had a little bit of offense. Not to toot my own horn but I had OSU +points and on ML last year v. MIA and frankly, if I could get better than 24 against OU this year (which is doubtful) I would take it (but forget ML).

But how can we seriously be discussing whether OSU is better than USC? That's just a joke and you've got to know it. OSU gets it done, yes. But USC is a machine.

Mr. Kennedy:

You are a fraud just like your football team. You played 3 not 8 teams that are currently in the top 25. The three are Bowling Green (25), Iowa (17), and Purdue #16. Of course all three of these games were at home.

As far as your road schedule is concerned you beat that powerhouse from Indiana 35-6, you lost to Wisconsin 17-10 (the same Wisconsin team that was unable to score a touchdown against UNLV, and you beat a woeful Penn St. team 21-20.
