5 sportsbooks starting up with 100k in the bank.

Will any new sportbooks survive?

One NFL weekend of Favorites and the OVER would pretty well knock all 5 off the island IMO.

Joey, what would you estimate is a safe start up bankroll for a book nowadays?

Thanks

I'm not convinced of that fav/over stuff for offshores. The money features on the Rx lines show a lot more bets on favorites and overs, but the money is usually 50/50.

In Vegas, there is no doubt the books hurt when favs and overs come in, because Vegas books don't let people bet anything anymore. They just want $20 drunken tourists.

Offshore, I think the money is evenly split. Just my opinion.

Maybe SIA and Bodog get more fav/over action but I don't think Pinnacle, Olympiuc and others do. I could be wrong of course.

Does BoDog or SIA really get more favorite action, or are they just quick to move their numbers? Seems to me this is a sorry excuse, if you truly are prone to getting more chalk play then boost up your numbers a half point. That will always draw out the dog players from everywhere and if truly your customers will bet those favorites at any price you should be sitting in excellent shape, more balanced action than most books.

Depends on if they are all post-up and if they are getting most action online or through phone. Good management with an online book could possibly do with less, especially if they don't offer much in bonuses and stick to reduced juice.
