Mine goes way back to 1978 Baltimore Colts @ New England, it was a miserable dreary rainy night up at Foxboro...The Colts who had won 3 straight division titles were really struggling, the team was reeling from the preseason injury to franchise leader QB Bert Jones...The Colts had also traded away All Pro RB Lydell Mitchell to San Diego for Joe Washington....

It turned out being "The Joe Washington game"...It may have been raining but Joe Washington was running and passing as if he was the only man on the field who was adapt to the weather conditions...He returned a kickoff, returned a punt and also on a halfback option play threw for a TD !!! The guy was everywhere and for that Monday Night the Colts troubles seemed to be not so bad...The Colts beat New England , I watched this game on a black and white 13' TV but I will never forget it...

I can still hear Howard Cosell...."Look at little Joe Washington go", I can hear that famous MNF music in the background, lol ...

What would be your best MNF memory?

I want to say A game between The falcons and the steelers In atlanta when Jerry glanville was coaching maybe early 90's??.... The falcons scored on the opening drive and the entire place was yelling steelers suck! ...the steelers then proceeded to score 35 unanswered to win 35-7...they went to the divisonal playoffs and lost to buffalo I think....but that was a hell of a MNF game IMO

A game in the Astrodome in the 70's or early 80's where the Oilers were getting wacked. They focused in on a lone fan in a deserted section in the stadium sleeping. As if on cue, the guy woke up and very subtly gave the camera the finger. Dandy Don Meredith pointed out to the audience that the fan was saying the Oilers were #1.

Please there can only be one answer on this.......This is easy.......The Fan Guy (not related to Steve Bartman that I know of) in Chicago jumping off the bleachers to catch that point after Touchdown and landing who knows where on the concrete walkway below.

That is an easy winner.

He apologized for 2 weeks to me. He kept saying that he was just messing around with my head. Still cant believe it happend. I moved out shortly after that. Damn jinx.

toughie here

fave one in a good sense - when the broncos' fan threw a snowball that affected a 49ers FG - and because SF never made it - denver won by 1.

but fave moment/game was th opening MNF game of the 1999 season. i had been a broncos' fan for 20+ years. they played miami that night - and my bro was a miami fan.

for an early xmas gift - i took him to the game with me.

IT WAS AWESOME!

the night before we flew from so. cal to denver (we left sunday morning) i couldn't sleep. i was like a kid on Xmas eve - i was going to see my FIRST broncos' game IN denver (as opposed to san diego - or anaheim when they played the rams).

i was so excited i could hardly contain myself. when we got to denver sunday i stayed away from mile high because i wanted to see it for the 1st time monday at the game.

monday couldn't come fast enough for me. the game started @ 7P - but we got there about 4P. when i FINALLY got to mile high i swear it brought a few tears to my eyes.

FINALLY i was going to see an NFL game where i would be in the majority of fans - not the minority.

our seats were in the south stands. for those not familiar with the "SS" - it is like the cleveland dawg pound - but with more class.

to make matters even better - at halftime of this MNF game they were going to retire elway's number and induct him into the ring of honor.

when the game started the place was electric! i had never been to a MNF game. i had been to a SNF game - but never an MNF game. ask anyone who has been to a MNF game - and they will tell you there is NO comparison between a MNF game and any other game played that week - especially a 1P start - played in sunlight.

sitting in the south stands was great. we stomped on the aluminum stands and made a TON of noise. when the dolphins got near the 25 yard line we screamed every second. i ended up losing my voice for 2 days afterwards - but never minded 1 bit.

this was easily the most fun i have ever had at a pro football game - by far.

i am going to a broncos' game in 2004 in denver and am looking forward to it (although i am smart - i am going in september before the weather turns nasssssty!).

I was just moving to the Bay Area in 94 and the opening MNF game was the Raiders and Niners and the two teams hadn't played in years. The Raiders were still in LA, but the rivalry was intense. I just was up there to do the job interview that I would accept and hung out with my friends at a bar. It was like war, Raider fans never stopped rooting for their team and the Niners were on the verge of having another Super Bowl winning season with Steve Young. Then Rice broke the record for TDs in that game (I think can't remember the record), the Niner fans in that bar were going nuts. Also the game Napoleon McCallum had that nasty injury and that crazy bar was silent for like 10 minutes. Having never lived in the Bay Area before that was my introduction to how football crazy the area is and that rivalry is as good as it gets in the NFL. I still can't believe last year's game wasn't considered worthy of MNF, the town was talking about that one for 3 weeks and it ended up being a great OT game.

I can think of so many great memories and games from over the years.

Today is actually the 18th anniversary of the "Snowball Game" in Denver where the snowball got thrown to mess up the kick by the 49ers. I'll always remember that moment.

Another one that sticks out in my mind was when William Perry scored his first touchdown for the Bears.
