Let me preface this by saying that I carry a rather small balance there which is tied up in football futures at GA.

Nontheless, I just called and the CS rep was so unscrupulous and dishonest I thought I was going to jump through the phone and strangle her.

She tells me that she doesnt work for GA but is only fielding calls because of overflow. Note: she also wont tell me what shop she works for. She was adamant about the fact that she has nothing to do with GA and doesnt want to be associated with them. I then proceed to ask her if I called up, ignorant to the situation, and was inquiring about depositing 10K into shop, if she would process the transaction. She said "of course I would." I asked her if she would notify the potential customer of the current financial situation and she told me no. Her exact words were "wouldnt you want someone to deposit 10 dimes into the book so that you could get paid?" This is the same type of misguided bullshit that went on when Mike/Fredd (dont know which) was touting their outrageous bonuses last week on the boards.

The 'matter of fact' manner in which this rep replied to me speaks volumes on the morality of GA, its proprietors, and its employees. No matter the resolve, they are a bunch of fu(king thieves leading unsuspecting sheep to slaughter.

I hope these cocksuckers have to look over there shoulders for the rest of their lives.

C'mon doc, do you really expect a cs rep of a book in trouble to tell a customer their current situation???
"CS rep: I'm sorry sir, but we can not take your deposit right now because we are having financial troubles. How much do you want to deposit? 10K. hold on let me ask my supervisor....... No, sorry, we really need the money but we are so honest we are not going to take it..."
Bulls hit..... You know that's not how it works...
If you are calling to find out about the situation, ask for the manager, and good luck if he tells you anything, but please don't act so surprised about a cs rep's answer, cause he/she would get his/her ass fired if they answer the question you keep asking, go atright to the source (if you can).

Heres an alternative:
STOP TAKING POSTUPS AND WRITING ACTION if you cant pay. The entire offshore industry is a fukking joke. When large retailers operate under bankruptcy in a civilized country they must act within certain paramaters in order to be legally operational.

I agree, but i'm talking about the situation right now, no what they should've done, but what they should do now. If you were the owner of a book in that situation would you tell your emplyees "hey guys we are coming down, tell of our customers that we are no longer able to pay them, so stop sending us money"?
I don't think so. I would guess you would hope for the best, take your chances and see if we bounce back..... when to stop doing that?? I guess that is the real question here.

docdekay - Being that they were aquired today I would think that was someone representing the company that just aquired them.
Please don't try to tell me that the new company that aquired them didn't know this was going on.
Maybe they can come in here and explain?

It seems relevant to this discussion that when AllWorld was teetering on the edge (prior to Pari-Action's bailout), Rick did PRECISELY what is suggested here. He shut the windows to action and deposits. It CAN be done boys, it just takes integrity and balls.

Bump for those thieves. I'd really like to know how the company was never in any financial jeopardy in light of the conversation I had with the CS rep.

Gambler's Avenue was hosted in Costa in a turn key outfit. Gambler's Avenue had only 2 company employees, Fred and Nyree. The rest of the people you have talked to belong to the turn key outfit.

90% of the guys who move offshore to open books dont do it for the books sake....they do it because they are already wanted in the u.s. for something or other.

Only people I ever talked to over there were Fredd and Nyree just like you said. Occasionally I would get responses signed by Mike Silver. I didnt know he was "handling" things in the States.
