Lots of valid concerns today. Turned out a sad day. We will move forward and try to be wiser next time. My apologies for my failed faith. This morning, I really thought Mike would be able to pay all. I had communicated with him occasionaly since the Wager Paradise issue. I am shocked.

But I learned a few things along the way.

Thanks The General

What the heck, you could have been right! If you had half the clue you purported some may have been able to savev some or all their funds.

It's all good, however. Good luck with your games, General. Even more luck collecting your money, The General. It's all good. Koomb-by- fukin-koomb-by-fukin-ah!!!

Where do you get off calling this all rumor? And if it werent for Royal we would all be getting the Royal shaft from GA! These morons had no intention of paying us and have been lieing the whole way and even though they knew they were in finanacial ruin had the audacity to offer 25% bnus for new customers. I fail to see how this is all rumor and we should shut up now.

Yes its fantatsic that Royal bought out GA but we still have to wait to get our monies because we have to roll t over 5X. Id be more than happy to roll it 10X as long as my money isnt gone.

Royal Purchases GamblersAve! Customers relieved but not thrilled
Posted: Tuesday, November 04, 2003 7:11 PM (PST)
I just got off the phone with Royal Sports. Kenneth confirmed to that they have indeed bought GA and all GA balances will be carried over with the transaction. HOWEVER clients are required to roll the funds over 5x. Royal itself was up for sale not more than a year ago. After a deal with Olympic fell through they have since rebounded and opened a new reduced juice store, www.lay107.com . Only a few in house issues remain. Royal should gain a nice customer base and not lose alot in having to pay GA's clients due to the roll over requirement. A 5x rollover requirement is NOT getting your money. It is like getting a gift certificate at Toys R Us when expecting your change back at the grocery store. Break out the head hunters for Freddy!! Here is an example of some of the mass marketing they did to grab as much cash on the way out as they coud.... posted Oct 29th >>NBA is back!!! And Wednesday night Basketball will be great at GamblersAvenue.com We have come up with an offer you can’t refuse!! Western Union Wednesday Promo!! Make a deposit via Western Union on Wednesdays and get: - 25% Cash bonus for your deposit (RELOADS and New Deposits) - All Fees covered on any amount deposited This promotion will be every Wednesday, today included. anyone here working for GA? insider?

then do u have any evidence that they wouldn't be able to pay out????

this is an article from 911 by Mike:

"We've always had money to pay players and a fairly attractive business model to boot, otherwise we wouldn't entertaining a bidding war to buy us out," said Silver. "There were a few unfounded rumors over the past couple of days which caused a run on the bank but I suppose without these rumors, Royal would never have come to the table, so this was all for the best."

rolling over 5X for a 25% bonus is a great deal.

I say that's more than reasonable.
I've seen 25% with a 10X roll-over policy.

why are you whiners always not happy with life????

NBA,
nothing matters.
Bottom line is you werent strong enough to survive whatver it was and now no one can get their funds. (and I'm sure everyone is happy to get what Royal is ofering vs nothing)

GA spent mucho $$$ on marketing and bonuses but offered 40 cent ML lines in MLB playoffs and lil betting options. A presence in the forum and being endorsed by honorable people led us to believe financial backin existed regarding what seems to be a crappy business model.
Jazz said it nicely in his post.

THERE YOU HAVE IT! There should be no such thing as a run on the bank for our own money. I am sure Mike will just silver I mean sliver away with a nice mailing list of players and start another book eventually. The sad thing is I met this guy in Vegas a few months back and he lied to my face.

If any books out there would of done what royal is doing for GA when NAB,Aces,or camelot went under they would kiss the ground Roberto walks on. Cannot see why people are upset about the 5x rollover.

Krackman,
I can't understand why you can't see why people wouldn't be happy. If someone stole your wallet and then gave you some of it back would you be happy?

Bottom line is if you had $1000 cash after a 5x rollover your money is worth $750.00. Can I steel 250 from you but leave you 750 and have yo cool with it?

Don't get me wrong..Thanks for Royal for giving something for nothing but lets not let Freddy have the rep that he took care of us as he said he would.

If I remember correctly, Olympic's bailout of Camelot included a 5X rollover too. Didn't matter, I lost and f*Cking Mark Del cost me $4800 in the end....prick.

I agree with Dozer on the post above - he's right, this is not a clean bail-out. If I had ever opened an acct there and still had money, I'd be mad as fvcking hell at GA but relieved that I got some kind of bailout from Royal, but still pissed I had to give 5x action.

So the glass is half-full, the problem is it's half-filled with piss and not wine, so what do you do without any other option?

Scalp it or middle it out. This works only if you have other books and a large enough bankroll to do so. Work at it and it will give you the 5X rollover you need, or if you're lucky you will simply get all the money out of Royal in other books, then you can close your account there if you don't want to stay. You probably will take a loss on the scalps and middles, but it will be far less than trying to bet straight up. And if you actually hit a middle or side bet, then you'll come out ahead of the game.

A lot of you know to do this, some don't. Some may not be able to and for them, that sucks.
