Usual reasons:

Bonuses

Opinionated Lines

Slow Moving Lines

Scalp Opportunites

Alot are found on obscure forums or sports sites and by newer players who have no real idea of the risks. Another obviously is bonuses. As EGD states slow moving lines is also a big factor for some experienced players.

Almost anyone who says differently is lying.

Also: trying different books. some books i can't win a game at (like BHB). maybe you play at a book and get hot and win only at a certain book.

I am not a bonus whore. It is nice to get a bonus when I pay 3.9% to deposit thru neteller

cashin,

I don't play at any other than top tier books except in this instance. Bonus had nothing to do with it. If I were to list my other outs, you would see some offer no bonus at all, some 10%.

I simply wanted to enjoy a contest which seemed like fun so I posted up a couple of bucks and built it up to a nickle which is where I now stand.

Just wanted to present another reason why someone would post up other than the more obvious ones.

I agree that it pays to be cautious in posting up at small tier books. But, all the top books so often cited here(Pinnacle,Oly,WWTS,etc.) , were small books at one time.

For the bonus and bonus only. Some can't stay ahead without the 20%. They should just stop gambling.

usually greed, and falling for something that looks too good to be true. Sure, there are smaller books with good people behind them, but one needs to be extemely discerning.

for extra outs..translating to better odds ..and/or scalping/middling..etc...

bonuses never make me come to the books as i hate doing the rollover and waiting 30 days yadayadayada... now if i had thousands to wager like some of yall..i can see the worth of getting a hefty bonus...but if i deposit $200 and get a 20-40 dollar bonus it doesnt help me much and i have to have a rollover too? yuck...low vig should always beat a good bonus.

Some of us rely on sites such as this to help evaluate the risks involved with posting at a particular book. I for one have to put trust in people who are supposed to be in the know in this business.

Gamblers avenue was endorsed by the Rx. I took this to mean that the level of risk involved at playing in this book was probably acceptable. I can now see it simply meant they had paid their advertising fee and was no reflection on their financial backing.

I am now looking at losing $6k and the site that has promoted this book to me is cracking jokes about other forums refunding their advertising fee and questioning why we sent funds there anyway. Unbelievable!
