Always been curious if they were giving me the run-around. I walked up to the blackjack table and put my chips in the first spot. Immediately the dealer begins to deal and puts the first card in the 2nd spot. Before she even deals the next card I stop her and instead of backing the card up calls for the floor supervisor and she refuses to give me the ace! They return my money.

I can see if she dealt several cards but it was obvious my money was out there and I was in the first position. Basically told me to go piss up a rope. That can't be policy anywhere can it? No big deal but talking to someone on the phone about the Bahamas reminded me of this. Always wondered if I wasn't tipping enough that day or that was really the rule.

I saw that done at the Imperial Palace one day and the dealer said the guy was too late and they didn't allow new players to come play in the middle of the deck. BTW, I have been trying to talk to you about an idea I have. Please e-mail me your e-mail address at editor@therx.com....thanks - Charlie

Charlie - wasn't a matter of being too late, I watched most of the hand before being played out. Nor back then did they have a mid-deck entry rule. The entire issue was she said they do not back up cards, period. I could see that if the 2nd card had been dealt but only one card out of the shoe had been pulled and it was right next to me. She just accidently skipped me. No big deal or any confusion involved, just back the card up one box and all is fine. Anyway I was more curious than I was upset. I'll drop you a line, thanks.

Irish,

I suspect that it was a house rule. I've seen cards backed up at Atlantis (Bahamas), Mohegan Sun, and in AC. Calling the pitboss over is protocall, but the PBs at the above establishments were pretty casual.

Good luck to ya-
