Something not talked about all that much on these forums....When is the proper time to get a full payout, maybe take a break for a week or so????

This is where I believe the Offshore Bookmaker has the biggest advantage...For one we don`t WANT to withdrawal money and absorb the huge fees time and time again...But at the same time I have seen (first hand) and by many others....The money accumulates and so does the size of the wager....Instead of cashing a nice check...The money sits offshore , where in a local scenario would already be pocketed and profits protected....Offshore it sits and then turn into "just a figure" that is played day in and day out....If it was actual CASH in POCKET it would be treated much differently....This is by far the worst thing about playing offshore for me personally, and I am sure many others....When is the right time to cash out? The best way to handle that situation is to set a goal you want to reach. When I reach a certain figure I take it out and leave in a set amount. It sometimes is hard because, as you said, your wagers definitely increase as the dollar figure grows larger on your COMPUTER SCREEN. A little discipline can go a long way, sometimes I certainly wish I had more.

If you cant control your bet size based on how much money you have in your accounts, you shouldnt be gambling at all.

Jman, you have to have more discipline that that to have a chance in this game. Just because you have more money off-shore than normal doesn't necessarily mean you increase your wager size? Everything has to be done in relation to your bankroll. Make your bets either 1, 1.5 or 2% of your total bankroll. The key is to be consistant. Never risk more than 8% on any one day. Regardless of what is out there in your accounts don't play more than 2% of the roll on any one play, ever! Slow and steady takes the money. Dell Dude plays may be interesting to read but he has no shot to ever win long term.

Use Neteller and manage your money wisely, fees can take a big part of the roll so be smart with them. Also don't believe what you hear, nothing wrong with picking up a bonus or two. It is smart business. Just don't play in shit books to get one. I will be funded in the outs I am using but always leave some in Neteller or somewhere that you can get in a place quickly (and cheaply). Be it for a number you need to make a play on and can't find at your funded outs or a bonus to pick up. You have to take the time to manage your roll like you would a small business. Practice a little at it but treat it seriously. If you are out here floundering around without any sort of organization you decrease your chances of lasting very long. Even a guy like you who is 12-1 in teasers lately.

I think the point I was trying to make is its harder not having that cashed ticket of winnings in your POCKET everyday ...I think alot of players would have less of a chance of a real bad day if the cash was in hand...Its so easy to get down on a given day , go right back in saturday at 7pm and do something stupid, whereas if the cash was physically leaving ones hand it would less likely happen....THAT is absolutely the biggest psychological obstacle to overcome when I have a losing day....Yes I know its wrong and a total square move,lol...Chasing is one thing, chasing with money in hand would be less likely atleast for me....

Just part of the game....experience is suppose to bring discipline, I have gotten better at but "when to pull out" is still a tough call...And being in MD we can`t use Neteller to move money around

I like this topic because it is SOOOOO true. I have a buddy who was winning at a very good clip. He said after a while it was "just numbers" in his account and he got careless (lost a good bit of what he won). So, I completely understand what Journeyman is saying. Then again I had the wrong attitude when concerning that money as well. After I got my initial deposit out I was the same way for a bit but had some good luck along the way. Not everyone can get away with that so I was lucky. Anyways, it is strange because if I lost $100 bet with someone and paid them out of my pocket, it would bother me. When I lose $100 on line I could care less.

BTW- I agree with Wiz Kid, you need to set a figure that is attainable. Everytime you hit that figure it's time for a withdrawl. For the most part I take some $$$ out every time I hit 5 figures. That number would obviously be different for everyone though.

Do you ever go to the casino?

How would you handle money in a casino? Probably differently than in the sports offshore world on a comp. screen. I bet everyone will handle it differently - and you make some good points!

Its very difficult because there`s always the next game...Offshore has such an advantage for this reason...When to take out the money. I guess setting goals and starting over monthly isn`t a bad idea....I am sure many of us struggle with this factor...

J-MAN.....I have a ton of books and spend little or NOTHING on fees. Neteller is the way to go. Once you have money in Neteller you can EFT it to your bank account for free. Most sportsbooks allow you free Neteller withdrawls at least once a month and hardly any charge for depositing via Neteller.

When I get ready to try a new book is usually when I take out.

If it is a case of needing the cash, then anytime is fine

If this is the biggest "problem" you have with offshores please can you post some picks.

My problem is more "where do I find the funds to reload?".
