Borgata to keep ‘Pimp’n’Ho’ clean
Halloween party’s ‘double-X’ billing called ‘just hype’

ATLANTIC CITY - State gaming rules explicitly - and we mean explicitly - prohibit casino entertainment that includes actual or simulated sex acts and the exposure of six very private anatomical areas.
With that in mind, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa tonight will throw an X-rated "Pimp'n'Ho Halloween Party" for the public that promises flesh and fantasy.
"The Double X-Rated party you've been waiting for," Borgata boasts. "Dress as a pimp, ho, or anything else in between."
Joseph Corbo, Borgata's general counsel, said the casino is guilty of marketing hyperbole, not of violating gaming regulations.
"From the standpoint of pornography, which this obviously is not, it's just hype," Corbo said.
"The regulation has more to do with the entertainment act than the marketing of it," he said. "This really isn't entertainment. The people are basically entertaining themselves. Having said that, the same holds true for any party we have or any night at Mixx: If people come dressed or undressed inappropriately it will be handled through security or club management."
Sid Vaikunta, director of marketing, said Pimp'n'Ho is just another themed party in Borgata's Mixx nightclub, the type routinely held in Las Vegas and New York clubs.
"It's a frame of mind as you come into the party," he said. "It encourages people to dress in costumes in this theme so it's not just another Halloween party."
State gaming regulation 19:43-15.1 prohibits any live entertainment with "acts or simulated acts of sexual intercourse, masturbation, sodomy, bestiality, oral copulation, flagellation or any sexual acts which are prohibited by law."
It also forbids "touching or simulated touching, caressing or fondling of the breasts, buttocks, anus or genitals."
Entertainers are also barred from exposing, or appearing to expose, six listed body parts.
"I'm sure the folks are Borgata are well aware of those restrictions and I wouldn't anticipate they plan on violating them," said Daniel Heneghan, spokesman for the Casino Control Commission.
