Seems as though Legal trouble may force The Major (Russ Hawkins) to unload his site. I have heard from two independant sources that The Major who is in the midst of some legal troubles has been communicating to unload MW, two sportsbook owners were also contacted with the offer of taking over the site with Russ staying on as a figure head and assuming a salary. Both of the books contacted have decided that an extension of their business into the forum community was not beneficial. One of the persons I spoke to stated that other SB's will now be contacted in the next few weeks and months trying to work out an arrangement, apparantly the legal troubles are serious enough to warrant jail time. Just thought I would like to inform some SB owners before they are approached.
I'm not privy to that, if fact I will see if I can find out. I do know that one of the people approached asked for a financial statement and details of contracts with SB's and other principals and was given a runaround which made the decision to turn Russ down even easier. Not sure if or what he was trying to hid but I would be leary of anyone or any company that will not or would not show financial records especially when trying to unload a site or business. Only seems logical doesn't it?

Buzz I'm just reporting what I am hearing, I actually post at MW as well but thought that everyone should be aware of what was going on with having Minnow delete my thread. Friend or foe, something damaging and (potentially) false has been posted about MW. MW has refuted it. If CajunBeat had "proof", he would not have referred to "independent sources".
