Sending emails to yourself to capture wager images: good for disputes

A current dispute by another poster with a book made me think to mention the following as a way to protect yourself in the event you have a problem with the book.

I recommend cutting-and-pasting the actual wager screen into an email that you send to yourself, with the book it was placed at combined with a short description of the wager in the 'Subject' - then you'll not only have proof, but since you email it immediately you'll have a time-stamped copy in your Inbox - very handy for emailing to customer service. Sorting by the Subject will quickly group all of your bets by book, and you can then even create additional folders by the book name to store them in. Of course, once the wager has been settled okay, you can simply delete it.

This beats printing every damn confirmation screen out in case there is a dispute, and you'll have something you can forward immediately to a book to prove your contention.

a buddy of mine i college took and class and they were talking about internet saftey. a guy in the class asked if someone in the class had a yahoo email acct. someone did the guy in the class got into his acct and sent out emails. he said he could also change the time they were sent. he could email in assignments late and change the time to look like they were on time. with all of the computer people and high tech scammer out there i'm sure people would try it.

Valid point - but of course you could also capture a wager image and modify it digitally too, I'm sure, and THEN print it out as WTTS was asking - but this is intended for honest people, not scammers. When I do this, I have a record for myself too, and if I ever get into a dispute with a book that absolutely denies what I see in my own email, then I know who the liar is. Hasn't happened yet, thank goodness, but a few times I've found that I bet the WRONG side and it was myself who was in error.
