Charlie, I didn't like your choices. You overlooked 2 legends of broadcasting..

1- Dick Irvin.

Sick - Gallivan was terrific! However, growing up in Detroit, I got the Toronto feed for Hockey Night in Canada most of the time and was brought up with Foster Hewitt from the Godola at Maple Leaf Gardens. It's Duff to Armstrong to Mahavolich....he shoots...he scoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooores!!!

Casino guy - Gallivan would also say that a player couldn't "negotiate" the pass. He was one of a kind!

Charlie- You bring back some good memories. I can remember when I was a kid, I used to put my transistor radio under the pillow and use the earpiece so when my parents checked up on me, they thought I was sleepimg. I really enjoyed listening to Bob Wilson do the Bruin games and Marv Albert do the Ranger games.

My favorite all time hockey announcer was Dan Kelly. He was so much fun to listen to. A fabulous announcer who clearly loved the game and it came out in each and every game he called.

Foster Hewitt - Just from the replays I've heard.

More recently:

Dick Irving - Great.
Chris Cuthbert - really knows his stuff.
Bob Cole - how could I not.
