Chargers general manager A.J. Smith on NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue’s decision to move the "Monday Night Football" game between San Diego and Miami from San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium to Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., after fires burned more than 264,000 acres, killed 13 people and burned nearly 650 homes in the San Diego area by Sunday evening: "I just can't se'e us turning around and going to our stadium and playing Monday Night Football. There's too much devastation going on for that. Too much. I think the league did the right thing. To turn around and run out of the tunnel at Qualcomm with all the things going on, it wasn't right for me."

Ravens head coach Brian Billick, who lost a challenge and had an apparent Todd Heap TD reception overturned in a 26-6 win over the Broncos, on the current system of instant replay: "I quit. I give up. I've tried to be an advocate for instant replay. I've tried to do the company line. I've said the right things. Dump the whole thing. We have spent so much money on this thing and it doesn't work. I've tried. League, I'm sorry. I've tried to hold the line. Dump it. Get rid of the whole damn thing because it doesn't work."

Cardinals S Adrian Wilson on getting ejected for drawing two unnecessary roughness calls, including a vicious hit that knocked the helmet off 49ers TE Jed Weaver, in Arizona’s 16-13 overtime win vs. San Francisco: "I was shocked that they called a personal foul on the first hit because it was really all shoulder pads. I'm not going to take none of my aggression away from what I was doing. If the play came up next week, I'd do the same thing."

Rams WR Torry Holt, who had seven catches for 174 yards and a 36-yard TD reception in St. Louis’ 33-21 victory over Pittsburgh, on how the Rams' offense resembles the St. Louis offense of two years ago: "We could probably run our routes with our eyes closed, the way we're clicking."

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis on malcontent RB Corey Dillon who got into a traffic accident on his way to Paul Brown Stadium Sunday and was inactive for the Bengals game vs. the Seahawks even though he wasn’t injured after saying earlier in the week said he wanted out of Cincinnati: "We couldn't tell how he was going to be physically. We told him the key was to get himself right and fixed. Everything happens for a reason."

Vikings WR Randy Moss, who had 125 yards receiving and two TD catches in Minnesota’s 29-17 loss to the 3-4 Giants, losers of three in a row before victory, on the mentality of the Vikings after dropping from the ranks of the undefeated: "We just really didn't have it in us. I really don't know how we're going to react. Some teams go down in the hole, and some teams step up."

Browns head coach Butch Davis who created a full-blown QB controversy on having to replace QB Tim Couch with QB Kelly Holcomb after Couch sprained his thumb midway through Cleveland’s 9-3 loss to Patriots: "It's not easy for anybody to take 25 to 30 percent (of the practice snaps) when you're getting ready for someone you assume is going to be complicated defensively. You've got to give one guy the lion's share of the work, which we did."

Titans QB Steve McNair, who entered the Jaguars game as AFC’s highest-rated passer on Tennessee racking up 133 rushing yards and more than 39 minutes of game clock in the Titans’ 30-17 win vs. Jacksonville: "When you take 11 minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter, you're doing a great job of running the football. The guys buckled down today and realized that we needed to get something established other than just pinning back our ears and throwing it."

Texans head coach Dom Capers on RB Domanick Davis, who became the first Texans player ever to run for at least 100 yards last week and topped the century mark again with 109 yards in Houston’s 30-21 loss to the Colts: "I'm encouraged by the offense. Domanick gives us an added dimension."

Jets QB Vinny Testaverde who led the Jets to 10 points in three possessions before giving way to QB Chad Pennington, who had missed the entire year with a broken wrist, in the second quarter of New York’s 24-17 loss to the Eagles: "I didn't try to talk (Jets head coach Herman Edwards) into letting me stay in. I knew going in what the plan was. Did I want to stay in? Yes, but it's not my decision."

Buccaneers DT Warren Sapp on shutting out the Cowboys 16-0 after defending Tampa Bay’s defense had given up 458 yards in a 24-7 loss at San Francisco the previous week and blew a three-TD lead in the last four minutes of regulation to the Colts three weeks ago: "This wasn't about a statement. It was about going back to what we like to do. That's playing hard-nosed defense, shutting people out and giving ourselves a chance to win games. That's why we're world champions. We play lights-out defense. When we are doing that, we make you earn every yard you get against us."
