Rumours in Asia suggest that Thai authorities and Interpol are investigating bribery and corruption charges involving online gaming exhibitiors.
People posing as “experienced” organisers of online gaming conference/exhibitions, hosting events known as Asian Interactive Gaming, formerly EIG (European-I Gaming), EIG2001, AIGB (Asian Interactive Gaming Bangkok), are reported to have staged their events in Bangkok without approval from gaming or government authorities and without appropriate licensing.

Sources suggest that Katrina Davies of I-Net Events and Nick Litton of Revolutions Events, negotiated a last minute “Pay Off” to local police, who were on site in force to close down the event and arrest the operators, attendees and speakers, for violations relating to illegal gaming and/or its promotion within their country.
The payment of approximately US$ 10,000 was negotiated via cellular telephone by Katrina Davies and Nick Litton, which narrowly avoided police intervention. However it was whilst under surveillance from undercover agents. Authorities on site suggested that the operators did not re-stage further events in Thailand under threat of arrest. Ongoing investigations continue.

Original and disgraced company director of now liquidated ePayment Solutions UK, Andrew Davies (formerly sued by ePayments for theft of assets) has since surfaced as a prominent figure at an upcoming exhibition/conference in Barcelona, Spain named EIG2003 (European I-Gaming). People beware !!

Once again the website shows no license, approval from local police, approval for 3rd parties to advertise online gaming, or any legal approval from Spanish authorities. Do they even hold insurance to cover the public liability of attendees or exhibitors?

Their website uses a freemail service and organisers of the event namely Revolution Events and I-Net Events have withdrawn their website sponsorship or association, see www.revolution-events.co.uk , www.aigbangkok.com

How much gaming knowledge or experience do these organisers have? None according to their website and my guess would be a total of zero. I don’t think I will be attending.
