BW is a mythical syndicate leader with a sh!tload of money that everybody claims to know.

Not that BW is mythical - the fact that everyone claims to know him is mythical and the fact that he "knows" is mythical.

Cincy, there isn't much mythical about him besides probably a good %age of the "info" that you hear online regarding his plays.

His history and past success is rather well known and documented.

BW gets blamed for any move over half a point. Pay no attention to BW rumors, you will only end up losing money.

TTinco,

That's what I mean - what is mythical about him is the fact that people claim to know him, and claim that they know what will happen because BW has the info and they know what that info is.

It's comical.

I don't doubt BW knows what he is doing. I doubt any schmuck on these forum does - and the ones that do know, won't post it anyways - UNLESS SOMEONE WANTS THEM TO

BW has a lot of money. Except when it comes to sports betting, he's not as sharp as he thinks he is or as so many people believe him to be. In a moment, I will tell you all a strange but true story and then you'll see just how he has made a large amount of his money.

He has done well in land deals because he has the local politicians in his pocket. That always helps when you need those zoning variances. He has gotten approval to build several golf courses in the past and when he went before the City Council or County Commission he stated they would be "affordable" for the average player. I don't golf but know many people here who do and their idea of affordable is $40-$50 per round and BW's idea of affordable is between $100 and $150. BW recently got approval to get rid of 2 out of 3 courses in what was a nice developement and he got zoning approval to build houses on that land where there used to be two of the courses. That means the people's homes there have just dropped well down in price because the new homes are entry level type homes. I'm not knocking those type of homes because a home is a home but these people that bought their larger, bigger lot homes in a three golf course community now have one course to use and lots of cookie cutter houses in their backyards. Tons of people went to the zoning meeting but it was a done deal. Now it's time for a good BW tale.

There is a hotel downtown that used to take big sports action when Las Vegas was a gambling city. It's called Binion's Horseshoe. It's a shithole dive now but they would take a $50,000 2-team teaser in the NFL. Or more if you were a regular. The joint did a ton of action. A guy I knew got hired as the sports book director and the first thing he did was go to see Jack B,the hotel president. He was told by Jack B that BW can bet whatever he wants. That's not unusual but here's the kicker. For all halftime betting, BW can not only bet what he wants, he can bet the current number or the opening number if it has moved. So he gets to bet possibly two prices and can play the opener anytime he wants during that halftime betting period. It gets better.

The Horseshoe had a linemaker send a different halftime line if the one sent to the Horseshoe was a "pick". BW did not want a "pick" line. He wanted a line where there was a favorite. He wanted to be able to take that 1/2 point that NO ONE else could get. Nice edges if you can get them. And he did. The sportsbook manager put up with this garbage for a couple weeks then told Jack B to go f**k himself. The sportsbook manager didn't really care because he was a pretty successful bettor. I talked to him about a week after he left and he told me now he knew why BW did so well.

BW is a scumbag. If Metro Police found his corpse tomorrow, they would have so many suspects they would have to use the Rose Bowl to round them all up.

BW is no Keyser Soze, he is actually quite real and his status as legend is legit and well-earned, but as others have mentioned, his better days seemingly are somewhat behind him as the end-all-beat-all "shiznik" of college football(at least in the realm of what is publicly known), as former associates have splintered, & LV books don't allow for the large moves/middle oppurtunities he once created,etc..

College football is/was his strength, and though books move any sports wager they can attach to him disproportionately, the truth is that he at times was no better than Bagel
or the Lunatic in NCAA football, and downright inferior to Baxter in other sports(and halftime wagering), not in Tiger's league with the NFL, nor the Koshers in MLB, etc..

Though I'm out of the loop now, I suspect that Sierra has as good a network of cappers, movers, and associates as is out there, but BW seems wanting to develop properties and have the Fed's Texas-sized hard-on for him subside.

As mentioned above, following what is put out in his name will end up in flames more than not..send-out city.

Outside of the 80's Machine, it's been a series of sneaks.

Soccerbob, I have to disagree with your point that he is not as sharp as he was in the past. You may be right about the scumbag part. thousands of people have concurred with that assessment. however, I will guarantee you that there is no group out there that comes close to his winning %. He disguises his plays like Svengali, and nobody knows the difference between a lean, a small, and a Huge play. He throws out phonies like clooney discards models, and keeps everyone guessing. At the end of the day, he has all the cash, and absolutely nobody comes close. Even chip and doyle are afraid to deal with him. He is a genius. He may not be a guy you want to take home to Mom, but from all of the credible stories i have heard, there will never be another professional gambler like him in our lifetime.

Agreed Dalki, besides why would Doyle or Chips need him, they've got all the sharp info and access to movers and outs that they need.

And as you noted, unless you're sitting in a place that 99.9% of the time would be labeled R.I.C.O., you'll never know the true size nor
rating.

Dalki, do you know Chip from Saratoga?

WEEKENDALKI- There is no doubt he has a ton of money and has been a success as a sports bettor. But it makes it a whole lot easier to beat sports betting when you have deals like the one I brought to light in my above post. That's the only "inside deal" that I know of but I would be willing to bet that that certainly wasn't and isn't the only one.

Christmas shindigs.

From the LVRJ article that I read, it seemed that what he did was legal and the longterm winner for that area's progress(mixed-use?)? , and he actually is quite the philanthropist too..KSU/L-Ville/Ky & charities?

Hell what do I know, I don't know him from Adam.

Although I say this EVERY YEAR, there are so many gamblers who don't pay attention...

While "middling" hoops can be real lucrative for those who understand the value of numbers and deviations from them, the same principles do not normally apply to "middling football...

Arguably the sharpest sports better I have ever known, namely Billy Walters, told me a long time ago that everyone who went to Vegas tring to make a living by "middling" Football is now broke.

For example, all that a sharp gambler needs to middle a basketball game is a 1 1/2 or 2 point differnce between numbers when betting on sides..

A minus 4, plus 5 1/2 or 6 is definitely an advantage to the middler when betting hoops but it is NOT an advantage to the middler when betting Football...

Since points are scores in 1's and 2's in hoops, virtually every number can be a valuable one going down the stretch, as in th last two minutes...

The same cannot be said for Football since the majority of points are scored in 3's and 7's...

So many times, even though you may be within striking distance of your number at the end of the Football game, unles your number is EXACTLY 3 or 7 points away from current score, you have virtually ZERO chance o hitting your middle...

Now if you only middle around the number 3 in Football, that is one time where the player clearly has the advantage but in my opinion, too mnay gamblers pay weigh too much vigorish to create a middle off of the 3, making it an advantage for the house...

BW buys the best information money can buy.
He is only as good as his current crop of information sources.

Equating him to some sort of sports betting savant is akin to saying Gates is a technological genius.

Sodium, you are onto something there, as college football, his strength, is where he has a huge network of info/outs/locals, and they serve up the right side of his backbone..southern football teams.

But his clout had bought him an expanded strike-zone after the 80's successes..networking has it's priveledges.

Some of you sicken me when you post about a man you never met.

BW has a handicapped son, whom he loves very much...

Despite the one poster who paints a picture of BW in a non humanitarian manner, I shudder when thinking about this topic because this can't be any further from the truth...

I happen to know that BW donates more to charities that treat handicapped children and
he donated more money to them than most people make in a lifetime...

Unless you have met this man, don't believe all the malicious things you read about him...

These naysayers are jealous!

He truly is the greatest sports bettor that this industry has ever encountered...

All it takes is speaking to any of the ELITE sports books about him to understand this...

Out of everyone I have met involved in offshore sports betting, BW is the man I respect the most..
