Would be curious to hear what you guys think. I know we all read of the "charge backs" from a few , that ruined it for the rest of us honest folks. But I have to think that OVERALL the credit card companies did all-right with these transactions.
I mean every other day in my mail is an offer to get a credit card for NO interest till May of 04, and then at a cheaper price.
Without ANY federal litigation passed they decided to STOP.
Mistake-Yes or No? (On their part)

although it's nice to have people owe you money and collect interest from them, that balance is worth zilch if the debtor can't pay. Compulsive gamblers and other degenerates like us

can run up a hell of a lot of debt quick when you allow them to gamble on credit.

bankruptcies = bad for credit card companies
gamblers much more risk to go bust

probably good business move for credit card companies

terrible move for a company like Paypal to stop these transactions

I think the problem woud have only gotten worse as time went. The loss of millions or more by the handfull of customers who wouldnt pay cost the honest ones in interest, so I am glad. CC's like so much are a great tool for those who have money skills but so many use the system. I hear so many who say that they still got bankruptcy in their back pocket. It is a messed up idea of intentionally fukin others using the system.

To answer the question, i am sure the CC companies did the right thing. If they werent hurting by it they would not have done such.

Don't let the credit card companies slow you down, you can use your CC directly with WU. If they start messing with you there, goto an ATM and pull out cash with your CC.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

I trust Western Union even less than I do the CC companies.

Agree with OMT here. WU is becoming more of a worry than anything.
