Has anybody mailed a winning ticket to Vegas for collection?

I was in Vegas a few weeks ago. I had to mail in a winning ticket for collection because my flight left before the game would end. Anyway, I followed the instructions and enclosed a self addressed envelope with the winning ticket over a week ago. I also made a copy of the ticket for my records. I still have not received anything in the mail. Was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or could offer any advice.

did you send it registered mail, return receipt requested? thats the only way to go...costs $7 but well worth it if you're collecting big $

It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks depending on where you made your bet

Depends how big it's for. My future bet on St. Louis to win the Super Bowl years ago was well worth the flight to collect!

Thanks for the input. I did not send it registered mail. I wish that I had. I did not realize that it takes that long. It has only been over a week, so I guess I need to be patient.

I've mailed in tickets on many occassions and have always received the dinero in 2-4 weeks. Don't worry.

me, too - it took about 2-3 weeks - but got it every time.

The check will find you in time, always does.

Certified is the only way to send it.

Speaking of Vegas I have found a sure fire way to not drop any $$$ while visiting. Only way I've found so far......

Its kind of funny, but we'd all go nuts if an international offshore operation took 2 to 4 weeks to get a check mailed out.

I guess the 5,000 room properties lead us to believe that our money is safe, but compared to the offshore industry, with all the hurdles, quality of service at any reputable offshore is in a class by itself when compared to any nevada govt regulated operation.

Mailed many tickets to Harrahs in Vegas always was paid by check within 7-10 days! Make sure you mail it certified mail with return receipt!

when i cash tickets in vegas now, it seems like every time they ask for ID. does that go to the IRS? Also, I thought they can only ask if you win over 10k. that wasn't the case.

DO NOT send it certified. Certified mail merely gives you proof that letter was received, but is no guarantee against letter getting lost. Send it registered. Registered mail is kept under lock and key at all times ,and insuranace is available in case the ticket is lost in the mail.
