PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT THE DAYS OF ADVERTISING MAY BE OVER VERY SOON. WILL BOOKS STILL STAY OFFSHORE? AND IF SO, WHAT MODES OF ADVERTISING WILL BE DEEMED LEGAL?

WEEKENDALKI,

It appears that that the State of Missouri is putting some pressure on US based compnaies who accept advertising from offshore sports books...

My attorney tell me that they don't have any jurisdiction outside of that state, but to be safe, I believe that gambling portals should reside outside of US reach...

If a foreign coorporation accepts offshore gambling ads, I don't believe there is anything that the US can do about it...

This is just my opinion as I am clearly not an attorney...

P.S

The day that advertising for offshore books subsides will no doubt coincide with the end of prostition.

good points dan

personally i don't see how all these radio stations and what not are getting served papers and Fox goes and signs a deal with RX. It just doesn't make sense. I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade just stating the obvious.

The RX isn't a sportsbook, so why not? As long as this site isn't actually taking bets then there is nothing wrong with it. There are sites out there that condone and discuss lots of illegal things, but as long as they aren't conducting the actual illegal activity there isn't much they can do to stop it. Freedom of the press and speech still does exist

ESPN, Radio Station 1310AM, in the Tidewater area of Virginia does ads for Offshore Sportsbooks over the Air. (Tony Mercurio broadcaster).
Now if ESPN is not afraid --- who would be? (Guess they aren't too concerned about what's going on in Missouri)
But like the RX here, they probably keep a lot of lawyers driving big SUV's!
