That actually looks interesting. It will be a nice way to kill some time at work Thursday.

BTW, it doesn't look like its paid for by tax dollars, but rather by some libertarian organiziation.

Christof- I see what you're saying but as long as a member of the House of Representatives is there, our tax dollars are being spent as his time is being used. I can think of a few hundred other things one of our elected officials could be doing with their time that is more beneficial to the people they represent.

soccerbob.. Look on the plus side of it.. you have memebers of congress sitting in on what looks to be a libertarian-oriented talk on internet gambling. They might hear some rationed arguements from OUR side.

It is Barney Frank, one of the few members of congress with a good head on his shoulders..I have faith he will listen to reasoned discussion.

I think you're missing the point of the conference. It is hosted by a Libertarian organization, which means it will have a slant you probably approve of if you are here.

Christof- Good point. I think to make the conference more interesting, there should be some representatives from some of the offshore books in attendance. At the conclusion of the conference, anyone that opens an account gets a 20% bonus.

Come on Bob, do you really think Congresspeople spend their time doing good and proper things all the time? Are you kidding? They say they are flying back and forth to "visit constituents" but in reality they are spending our dollars so they can get some nooky with their spouses, taking care of things around the house, and pressing the flesh picking up campaign contributions. To sit and even think of nitpicking at what they should be doing strikes me as silly

WildBill- You're completely wrong here. They can get the nooky with the wife at home anytime they want. They take the roadtrips to sample the various dishes that are constantly put in front of them while they're out on the campaign tail. Oops, I mean trail.

They're always on the lookout for hot interns that they can get to take "dicktation" in their various offices.

Dante - The odds are we'll adjourn the week of Thanksgiving. We still have 10 appropriations bills to wrap up, teh Medicare conference and the energy bill conference. I know the House came in for just Mon-Tues and are out until next Tues.
