LOL, yeah right!......It's been a month now, since I've been using a local I was introduced to, and I've done nothing but collect good money each week. As some of you remember, locals are new to me, since I've mainly bet at casinos and online for so many years. But, I have seemed to develop some sort of pattern betting through this guy, and it seems to be working out perfectly. Each week, he has sent me the money (in the mail!<<is this normal?) without even asking to collect. I'm sure the day will come when my luck runs out, but when it does, I'll just stiff him and not pay him!

LMAO!! jUST JOKING! He seems like a great guy/bookie, and I would never, and have never even thought about stiffing someone. Besides, I enjoy walking daily.......

Strut, I still bet online also, but the larger amounts go through this guy. It works out well when middle opportunities, and covering a parlay on later games are available.

Thanks for the response Keith, I was waiting for someone to tell me if this was normal at all. I thought it was odd also, but he said he's been sending money in the mail for over 8 years~!

My amounts have been from $500 up to $1000 the last 4 weeks. He said he doesn't do it for very large amounts. I'm just wondering what he would do if I ever said I didnt receive it each time he asks me!?

Hache: VERY, very bad idea to use mail. If it's green, it could be stolen, or just never arrive, whether he sent it or not. It would put you in an extremely awkward situation if he said he mailed it and you didn't receive it. I'd thank him politely and ask not to get it that way, in all seriousness.

One other consideration perhaps worth thinking about - you really want a bookie mailing gambling cash in the federal mail addressed to you?

Wow. Maybe this is the new way of doing things.I haven't bet with a local for a few years as I only bet online now but wow.Exactly the point you make if you didn't receive the funds or someone else intercepted it.Don't want to be too nosey but he doesn't send a check? Thanks Hache.

I can't agree more Jazz, it sounded very strange to me also, but he claims he's done it for over 8 years and never a problem. He lives about 2~3 hours from me, so I'm not going to get it, unless it's a very large amount. I supposed if there's ever a problem, and I don't receive it, I will be the first ever, and he would probably send it again. The guy who "introduced" (on phone) us, said one guy owed him $30,000, and could only pay him $5,000 of it, and he let it slide. I admit, he does sound like a great guy on the phone, but, well, he's a bookie! Keith, I'm sure he doesnt like using checks for the fear of records, etc.....

Yikes! Well, GL, personally I wouldn't do that - btw, how are you going to settle with him if you ever lose? And what if he (honestly or some clerk of his steals it) doesn't receive it - you going to send it again? Btw, you'd best send yours requiring a signature receipt, or figure out some other secure way. A pound of prevention is worth an ounce of coke, er, cure

Yup BOOKIES sending money through the mail is not uncommon. But like JAZZ stated, not the safest either.

Yes of course checks are stupid too.I can maybe understand why you are doing this well with him as he may be soft on many fronts.8 years huh? I would take adavntage while you can because he doesn't sound like someone who will have a long bookie lifespan with those methods.I could always tell the guys who wwould be around and the ones who would get eaten alive.

Jazz, I have thought that myself already, when and if I do eventually get down to him (which I don't plan to

), how I will send him his funds. I definitely wont mail it like he does, actually, I can send it through my buddy that is friends with the guy "under" the bookie that got me in.

Yeah, fed-ex would be good, but looks like he can go that 'friend route' - cool. Just make sure you don't shear too much wool off this sheep so he can't make it through the winter, Hace

LOL Jazz, naaaaaa, I wouldn't do that. He seems though that he could easily be taken advantage of. But, then again, if he's been doing it for over 8 years, he must be doing something right!

Some strange things here Hache Man. He lets 25 dimes slide, mails you cash, you win every week, you say you are new to locals and this guy ain't even local for you. Have you even met this guy in person? Proceed with caution I would say.

Mr. Jones, I've never met him, but got through the guy "under" him.(through a friend) I too question his strange actions, but he's paid me 3 weeks straight (this will be 4th) and that's all I'm concerned about.
