Well Chargers were a big move, Bengals were a big move, Titans got a lot of movement, Saints moved to close to 3, Rams got a little move up so a big public team (Packers) didn't get their usual blind betting action. On the other side all I see are moves on the Giants and Bucs offsetting, so at least for sides it looks like a bad day. Not that it makes a big difference, but top it off with the Yankees getting the money in the usual "bailout" spot, covering the run and a half too and I'd have to guess it was rather ugly.

From what I have heard, Sat was a mixed bag with some books doing rather well while other fared less favorably.

I doubt that any books did very well today, and God knows that every square in the world probably had their left nut on the Yankees tonight to top it off.

At this rate, I'm very, very scared about my Chiefs play tomorrow night.

At this rate, a lot of the weaker books will flop.

Darwin was right, there is a natural order of things in this world.

Pat, one of the few things we've agreed upon lately has been the inevitable consolidation.

I don't know about you, but I WAS referring to next year. Another NFL chalk job next week & I'm pulling out faster than Beantownjim in JJ's mom

LOL. Yes you are correct. You have posted some of my feelings on it as well. Glad we can agree once in a while. I'm not one to diagree just because I don't like the person on the other side of the issue. And not to say I dislike you, I think working at the RX just makes me a natural enemy for some.

Would make me feel better to see packs and packs of dogs barking one of these week-ends. I've got a couple of books who said they are going to post on which games they got beat up on and which one's they made out okay at. With all this moving on air crap it's not always as easy as you think to see who got beat up and who didn't. Overall they probably lost but I don't think it's as bad as some think this week, just my opinion though. That San Fransisco game was huge for some books.

Damn, people aren't real optimistic about the books. I have a question. Don't the later games usually matter more than the earlier games?? If people win early don't they tend to double up late? It's not a smart thing to do but it sounds like something people would do.

That would tell me that the lines for the later games are adjusted accordingly and these games should be bet differently than the early games.

Hmmmm.

I just thought of another thing about late games, that being that when people get down they oftentimes chase on later games to make up for their losses.

Would it be safe to say that there is a lot more action on later games due to the point you bring up and also the point I bring up???

I am not a book but, in 7 games all 10 point teasers and less were blown if you bet the wrong side, in 9 games all 6 point teasers were blown if bet wrong side. Maybe the books didn't do as bad as you think?

Good point about the teasers. However, when so many games were actually moving this week, compared to the lethargic line moves of recent weeks, I have to think there were at least some books that took it pretty bad. The thing is all these people speculating on books going under in just one bad week are kidding themselves. What would drive them into trouble is if all the people came here and said "books had a bad week, better take out all your money before they crash", then a run would follow and we would have problems. As long as the books don't get a rush of withdrawls then time and the vig is on their side.

I think Chicago, Jets and Under killed a lot of tickets for the players as well.

What books had this huge weekend? Top 25 teams did well ATS on Saturday(Oaklahoma was our need)
Most did an average weekend that I have spoken to but NO ONE had a "huge day" on Saturday
