That play was routine pre 1965, but the last 30 yrs you get robot coaches telling people to never pitch the ball. We have a guy in our flag football team make the best play I have seen in a long time. It was the last play of the half, I threw a 65 yd bomb, our wr is a volleyball player the guy is about 6'5, he knew not to catch the ball because a defender would grab his flag immediatley, so instead of catching the long pass he did a volleyball back set to another widereceiver about 7 yds behind him for a touchdown, it was one of the best plays I have seen in athletics in a long time.

These guys practice that play every week. Coach Tice was quoted as saying he cringes when they do this in practice but also says he doesn't want to take the fun out of the game.
