Sorry to hear that, that fxckin Grady from Mayberry should be fired that dumb cocksxcker.See Torre did not waste any time getting Clemons out,the only shot they had.
If you can't count on your closerd for 5 outs you shouldn't be there.

i'm sorry to hear that - could have laid off in running though and made a nice tidy profit but thats talking AFTER the event but we all make perfect decisions in hindsight.

Alan,
While I certainly feel your pain here - to say you deserve a butt whoopin for rooting for another run is just plain silly. Do you mean to suggest that if you hadn't rooted for this extra run, it wouldn't have happened, and the Sox wooda won??? I could be wrong, but I doubt that you got that kind of power.

Had the same bet....but had Boston +1.70 in the series...so my jubilation was short lived too.

I did the SAME exact thing. Had the over, and was hoping for the red sox to make it go over, but was excited to see it go over when Jeter did it. Although was not too happy to see my larger wager on the SOX lose and the 2 other parlays with the sox tied to the over and sox RL tied to the over lose!

Better luck next time to us both, and everyone else. Pedro had the oppertunity to close the door, but failed and I blame the loss on no one else. Not Grady little, not the Curse. Pedro is the only one to blame for what happened. He even said it himself. He has to be one of the top 2 or 3 pitchers in the past 10 years, if not the best. He had the chance and blew it.

If you don't think Grade-E Little didn't fail miserably in game 7 then you weren't watching the game...Martinez never should have come out to start the 8th inning and at a minimum should have been gone once Jeter doubled..the man was spent, done, over...Grade-E's got 2 relievers (arguably 3) that have been lights-out for several games now and he doesn't use them til it's too late..and then to compund the fracture he puts soft-toss Wakefield in there just because he won his 2 starts; does that justify putting him in instead of either staying with Timlin or bringing in Williamson?...does Boone pull (or even touch) Timlin or Williamson in that situation?..Not a chance...Grade-E might be a nice guy that the players like playing for but he failed the strategy test big-time.

by the way wakefield made perfect sense because he can pitch 10 innings if you need it and the game was tied at that point they were not winning

no offense tommy, but if you "really doubt anyone said yank Martinez in the eighth" you weren't in Boston where anyone who's seen him pitch all year knew full well the guy was toast at that point and had to come out...and if u honestly believe that Wakefield could have pitched 10 shutout innings in that situation I've got some swamp land you might be interested in...Timlin and Williamson had been untouchable for several games in a row...that's why they should have been the first options to come in (or in Timlin's case, to stay in) and not the flutterballer.

Peter Gammons said to day on weei radio in Boston that Grad-E will never manage another game in Boston...People on talk radio wanted to cut his balls off with a busted clam shell. All he had to do was follow the script, by bringing in Timilin for 1 inning and Williamson to close like he did the entire playoffs and if it blew up nobody would have blamed him.....Timlin retired like 28 straight batters in the playoffs and Williamson never got into an 11 inning game when his stuff was electric most of the playoffs.

hi
no i was in yankee stadium and at 5-3 we wanted him out of the game
i odnt think that wakefield could have pitched 10 innings of shutout ball but in a tied game i think he was there best shot till they got the lead because he can pitch all day
