Some Things I am wondering about?

1. Why is the X-Governor of Louisiana in Prison?
CBS news just did an interview, but NEVER said exactly what he was convicted of. They called him a "womanizer and a gambler". (But I don't think that's why he's doing 10 yrs!)

2.Does Neteller use Bank of America Checks to pay IF you request a check? (I've never had one so don't know). 2a.Why do some prefer a check from them over direct deposit into a bank account?

3.What do you think of the new look of WWTS website? 3a. Wonder why they changed it, but looks good.

4.Do you HONESTLY think Pedro and Boston Red Sox have any CHANCE of beating the NY Yankees tonight with 50,000 plus pictures of Babe Ruth being waved by the fans? LOL. Say goodnight sox fans!

2000-05-10 - Ex-La. Gov. Edwards Convicted of Racketeering

Flamboyant former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards was convicted of racketeering, extortion and fraud on Tuesday in connection with the riverboat casino licensing process in Louisiana. Edwards, 72, his son, Stephen, and five associates were accused of extorting $3 million from applicants for riverboat casino licenses, including former San Francisco 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. The seven defendants faced a total of 33 counts ranging from racketeering to money laundering. Edwards was found guilty on 17 counts of racketeering, extortion, conspiracy to commit extortion, wire fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. His son was found guilty on 18 counts. ``As I have said all along, I'm still glad I'm an American and that we have the system we have,'' Edwards told reporters after hearing the verdict, which was announced by U.S. District Judge Frank Polozola at the end of jury deliberations that began on April 24 following a 3 1/2-month trial. Edwards was flanked by his daughter, Anna Edwards, and his wife, Candy, both of whom had tears rolling down their faces. Defense attorneys, who have moved several times for a mistrial since a juror was dismissed by the judge during deliberations, are expected to file appeals.
