Depends on your game and your limit. Well also if you smoke or can stand smokers. Non-smokers and middle or big limits are definitely at the Bellagio. The lower limit games there, the 4-8 and 1-5 games are juicy, but the mid limit games are often on the tightish side except for the prime hours of about 6pm Friday until about 6am Sunday. Best low limit and 10-20 game is usually at the Horseshoe, but you better have good lungs because its like spending time in an ashtray. Best game you will see in Nevada, without a doubt, is the 4-8 high Omaha game there, its the only place where you consistently see California like action. Its rare not to see 6 or 7 callers on the flop, number of bets and raises don't really matter, then on the river you always get called. Play that game tight and accept the fluctuation and you should be ahead.

Thank you guys, I am a non-smoker and will probably visit the Bellagio. I had a friend tell me to play tight out there. I have been to Vegas many times but never played poker out there.

Good info Bill and right on from what I have seen. The previous trip of mine (not the party) they had a juicy $10-20 at the Horseshoe but I couldn't get in one night and played the $4-8 while I was waiting. Unreal game. I hadn't played $4-8 in years but had them pass me on the hold 'em game all night long te game was so good.

Friendly bunch too, seemed to enjoy pushing their money into the pot as often as they could. Certainly didn't take a hand to encourage it. I wasn't sure if I just got lucky or if that was common there.

The smallish room at Mandalay Bay is clean, smoke free and friendly.

At peak hours the Orleans is worth a shot.

The Horseshoe used to have the best action high only Omaha game but on my visit last winter they said it dried up.

Sams Town used to be fun but I haven't been there in years.

Bellagio is the best but the daytime rocks are not beatable.

The best jackpots are at the Stations Casinos. The locals hang out there.

I played Omaha about a month ago at the Shoe and it was still rocking and rolling. I did sense it being a little tighter, but it was almost good for one's sanity. Then again it wouldn't take much for any good game to dry up, a game like that where luck is making the decision as to who goes home with money depends on just one or two wild players and the game is juiced. If it dies out, that would be sad. Vegas already has enough friggin raise and everyone folds games to the point where I don't even play live games much myself.

I like the Flamingo. It is small (~6 tables usually) but has lower limits and is friendly. The majority of the players are semi-drunk tourists out for a good time. The hotel caters to convention crowds. You rarely see good players there.

The other extreme are Station casino rooms. I was playing at a ten person game and everyone was calling everyone but me by first name. A guy from another table came over and invited most of them to his house for a social hour later. They may not be the best players in the city, but most know enough to make it tough to beat the rake and them.

Wildbill ..

Glad to hear the news about the Horseshoe Omaha game. Hey did you know that the black dealer with the HUGE head is "William Perry's" cousin ?

I miss Binions but the wife and I get full comps at Mandalay Bay. Where would you rather stay ?
