Hey guys,

I tried to re-load one of my accounts thru western union in Canada and when I was asked what the purpose was I told western union it was personal and left it at that. Well 2 hours later my book could still not get the funds on their end and when I went to see the Western Union people again they said they could not process without a legitimate purpose so I said sports wagering(probably pretty stupid of me) and the western union chick said that they are not allowed to process transactions for that purpose and they then gave me back my money. I know for a fact I have used this purpose before(however probably years ago).

I HAVE NEVER SENT MONEY ANY OTHER WAY WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IS THE BEST WAY TO SEND FUNDS FROM CANADA OFFSHORE OTHER THAN WESTERN UNION?

Right now, at least to me neteller is the only way to fly.

Just go to their web-site and they will walk you through the set up process!

You will be happy you did it!

Neteller charges a fee, 3 or 4% when you charge into their account, or it takes 3-4 biz days to get a bank transfer.

AND, they want your SSec. no.

FWIW, a Schwab debit-visa will be honored if you call Schwab ahead to tell them what's coming.

Just curious. Why don't you guys wire money from your bank? I worry about these third party money senders like Neteller.

That's what I do, I send it through bank wire, I don't like doing it through a middle man either.

you don't think dealing with a series of banks (originating, correspondent, final) is dealing with "middlemen"?

The third party processors are in the business of getting your money from point a to point b quickly and without hassle. That is their business

Money can get tied up for months with bankwires going astray

does neteller really require your ss number?

I don't think they asked me awhile ago when I signed up.

I haven't heard the horror stories about banks that I've heard about Firepay freezing accounts.

I've got three outs, never had problems wiring and they all reimburse my wire fees.

We've got enough to worry about over the books stiffing us without having to worry about the transfer agent too. Whatever works for you.

Next time just tell them you are sending it to a friend, the person who you are sending it to.

Last year i had some 18 year old western union guy tell me that he knows why i am sending the money. He than said save your money man and i don't understand why people want to gamble. I wanted to say because we don't want jobs like you but i zipped the ole lip and never returned to western union.
