Sick Gambler is a seasoned professional handicapper period. For Reals. I have an eye for talent, and the guy is excellent in 4 sports. I rarely hand out compliments, but this guy is good despite any crtics he has, that is the bottom line.

Sorry I took so long to answer this, I just saw it now.. First of all, how in the world did you find a 70.5 on Carolina. I only see 73.5's across. I'd jump on that 70.5 if you really can find one, ONLY because it's a bad number, that's all...

As for Carolina, they are so up and down. The question is.. who will show up this year for the Canes. Will it be the great team that went to the Stanley Cup finals just 2 years ago, OR will it be the Canes that didn't even make the playoffs last year and end up with only 61 pts. So this one I would lay off. Although I always thought that this Carolina team is a very underrated team and don't get the respect they should get. They have a lot of talented players on the Canes..

But to be honest with you Railbird.. I don't like to play futures, and I have NEVER really been a future bettor. Reason why, I don't like to tie up my money for 6 long months. And most important, I don't like to sit there and win a bet and have to wait till the season ends in order to collect, and then worry about that book still being around to pay me in 6 months. When I win a bet, I like to see it in my acct the next day, not 6 months from now. A lot can happen in 6 months. Books can go broke, they could be having financial problems.. I know a few people that had some winning futures with Aces Gold, and I bet they weren't too happy when they won their future, only to see them not collect it..

I've noticed you are from Atlanta, and I am wondering if they are talking about Dany Heatley and Dan Snyder (who died) at all. Is anyone in Atlanta talking about this Glaken. Is it everywhere in the news. Please say yes.. Does Atlanta realize that they just lost one of the greatest players in the NHL, and one of the most talented too.. This Heatley was a star player. He was the next superstar in the NHL, if he wasn't already one. Are Atlanta folks even talking about this at all, or no one cares. I ask you because Atlanta is not a hockey town at all, and I just have a feeling no one really cares. This is big big news in
Canada. That's all we're talking about, so I'm wondering if Atlanta, being the source, if really care.

I could write three pages on the fans in this town; most came from (or were transferred) from some other city. I personally came from Florida State in 1984 when this town was a "small" city.

I am forty years old and used to sit on the porch (6-10 yrs old) with my Grand Father in Ft. Pierce, FL. ( thirty miles from Spring traing camp) when the Braves used to lose one hundred games a year; these are moments that very few in Atlanta can appreciate.

That said - You are right, it is page two here in the ATL. Page one is how to fix the Braves.

NO, I don't think the "non-hockey" people have a clue. There are alot of people in this city that only "peruse" or "scan" the sports page.

As I stated above this is a transient town with fans from all over. Shoot me an e-mail and I will tell you more about the Heatley situation as the crash site was on my street. G

sick, the line was 70.5 on Carolina for the season and was posted at the IP in Vegas.
I looked online and crunched some numbers and the best online number I could find was over 73.5.
Went to make the bet today, but it was bumped up to 72.5.
Pretty sure that book will be around in 6 months,lol.
