To what would the juice have be reduced for a book to be able to give up the whole bonus concept?

Example: If a book offered 10-cent football/basketball and 7 cent baseball and NO BONUSES, would that be acceptable to players?

Bonuses are really there to sucker you in - lower juice every day for me. The only companies therefore that i see that are worth mentioning are:

1 - Betfair(an exchange)- normally 0-1% juice + 2-5% commission on winning bets - works out to about 3-4% juice depending on the sport.

2 - pinnacle 5% for certain sports

3 - canbet - 7% for certain sports.

4 - tradesports like betfair has lower juice through its exchange system but doesn't have the liquidity in many markets to be taken that seriously at this stage.

I would take the reduced juice over a bonus EVERY time. Bonuses are a one shot deal (unless you're a reload loser) ... low vig is like a diamond - it's forver

Reduced Juice at 7% is worth much more than 10% bonuses and I'd go so far as to say even 20% bonuses...

Bonuses are for losers! That keep coming back.

Reduced juice is the ONLY way to go. it's a NO BRAINER. (unless you can't do math)

You can get the best of both worlds. I play at Hollywood and get 7% reduced juice every day. Pinnacle has 5% juice and I use Gamblersavenue, which has good bonuses and reduced juice on Friday's and Best Line Sports which is 8% juice and 20% bonus. I have found this to work well and give me many different options to shop lines.

IIS-

For the reason not to have both, you might want to read my original post for the thread. The POINT is: what would you have you to reduce the juice to in order to ELIMINATE the bonuses completely?

All you are doing is promoting yourself and saying -107 and bonuses. Now, if you said -105 and NO BONUSES, that would have answered the question I posed.

Feel free to re-read the question, and try again.

-103 doesn't leave the book much to pay the clerks/phone/computers/rent/etc.

That is probably true. The big players probably include a lot of sharps/wiseguys. They have an advantage even at -110.

Java - The biggest problem with bonuses are they there to KEEP you at that book while you are trying to roll it over 3 - 6 times with your original post-up amount that earned the bonus.

You should look at it this way...there are strings attached to that bonus and if you withdrawl before you meet the roll over requirement you lose the bonus.

I'd rather have the reduced juice as that means MORE MONEY left in my account over the season...and the fact that I can withdrawl at any time and use those monies.

I would rather have +105 and 80% cash bonus and free donuts and whores on holidays. Of course, the way I pick this season I would still lose it all!

Good post. However, what do you think the right level of reduced juice a book should offer, if they are going to give up bonuses? -107, -105, ?

Why not take a book up on a 50% matchplay bonus or 20% cash bonus, then find an exotic, eg. CFL in which they are slow to move a line and bet it all at that place and scalp it at a low vig book like Pinnacle. It's a no brainer.

The only way to answer this question is to answer another question....
What is the rollover for the bonus in question?

If you judge a book srictly by juice then bonuses can be much better value. Especially with neteller where nothing keeps your money there past the rollover.

Bodog has 10% and 1x rollover so if you bet 1000 you get free juice. So thats better than any reduced juice. You play it through and withdraw. All of Vip's books have 20 for 1st and 2nd deposits. So thats 20% x 8 books at 3 x rollover. Going through all of those bonus rollovers is also better than the best reduced shop. You can call me a bonus whore if you like but I simply follow the value. I dont scam or do other crazy things but if they are offering 20% at WSSB and I'm looking to reload at vip and VIPservices says it OK then why not get the free money.
The house is my enemy so I go for the best value/odds of winning. Of course I will always have pinnacle and many other books to get a range of lines.
