Well Willy, this one can go either way, but you know your guess is pretty good. Cubs do have the home field. The oddsmakers are going to take that into effect..They will also just have beaten the Braves in the series too, which they will also take into effect. And most important.... the cubs will be a popular team amongst bettors, and nobody really cares for the small market Marlins, so even though the Marlins did have the better record, you do have to make the Cubbies the favorite here..

So your -145 is a good guess.. and I will go with Cubs -155/+135, even though the real line here should be ONLY Cubs -125 to -130.. But because the whole world is going to be playing Chicago, that is why I am going with the Cubs -155.

maybe I'm wrong.. but we will find out very soon..

Very good guesses guys. I'll slide in between with -150/+140 on a dimeline and -155/+135 on a 20 cent line.

Oly has the teams up with no line the Cubs are #809 and the Marlins are #810.

809 Chicago Cubs
810 Florida Marlins

Are we sure the Cubs get homefield?

yes willy, cubs have to get homefield because division winners usually do get this.. Unless they changed the rule this year.,which i doubt....

Just sounds strange, example tomorrow the Red Sox are #931 (Visitor) and the A's #932 (Home team).

My guess is Cubs -180 a bit higher than what Im seeing other guess. Books know they wil get Cubs money even at that price, and FLA is just so unknown to the masses.

but Oly is changing the numbers right now, they must not have known when they put the teams up earlier. No big deal.

I bet Cubs -200 for the Series. Tooo much money is already pending on the Cubs to win it all and the oddsmakers don't want to get hammered.

Josh Beckett to get the start for Marlins gm. 1 at Chicago.

If this series is anything over Cubs -165, i am taking Marlins... NO WAY should the cubs be that big a favorite..

Well, we're minutes away from finding out...

If they put it out less than 170/180 the books are crazy. It is likely to be bet close to 200 no matter where it starts. Cubs the ultimate public team with homefield and will also get a lot of sharp money(at less than 200 anyway) to boot because of their pitching and quality veterans.

BTW, I hope it is cheap because I have some Marlins at 40-1 to win the National League that I would like to hedge.

Sure right now everyone is Cub happy, but don't forget the Marlins made short work of a very good Giants team. Maybe a wide line book like Oly will open somewhere around -170. The line I mentioned before -145, is what I think it should be (the actual difference between both clubs). Bulldog makes some good points about public opinion.
