ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta Thrashers forward Dan Snyder died Sunday night, six days after he was involved in a horrific car crash with All-Star teammate Dany Heatley.

Snyder died at Grady Hospital from massive brain injuries without ever regaining consciousness, the team said. He was 25.

Police said Heatley was driving his Ferrari at about 80 mph on a narrow two-lane road last Monday night when he lost control, spun off the road and smashed into a brick and wrought iron fence.

Hard to believe this talented kid is now dead

He was a great player too.

He lead his team in shot percentage for players with over 10 goals..And he was the 6th on the team in goals scored, and didn't even play half a season last year..(34 games)

And who knows if the driver (Dany Heatley) will ever play again. Heatley is one of the most talented players in the NHL. He lead his team in scoring last year and was 6th in goals scored (41) and 9th in total points (89) in the NHL. And don't forget..he played for the lowly Thrashers too, with no great playmakers along side of him..

Dan Snyder.. dead at age 25..

Were they drinking? I thought they said alco. wasn't involved. Max- pretty funny comment! Can you imagine how many people would die from horse related accidents? I bet a hell of a lot more then die from car accidents? Have you ever fallen off a horse that is running, not fun, I have.
