Like a virtual chauffer for your IE limo, a new virus is responsible for taking you from your intended destination right to the online casino’s door. But the Qhost Trojan virus is more of an annoyance than a threat to PC users who get redirected to the site of the hackers choice. Most of the virus’ redirects are to pornographic and gambling web sites and usually occur when users access online search engines like Yahoo and Google.

The virus has no way of spreading itself to other computers from an infected machine, and is considered quite benign. However, because of the massive amounts of traffic being redirected to various pornographic and gambling sites, the information superhighway experienced a traffic jam of sorts this week as too many people took a visit to the internet’s high life.

Symptoms of this virus also include random and unwanted pop-up advertisements frequently being displayed on screen.@@

Maybe creating virus is cheaper than advertising.
