Doc-
I have to second that. The article has pretty much zero information content.

To save the others posters time, here is a summary of the article.

1) There are good and bad customer service people.

2) There are a lot of scammers.

3) The sportsbooks don't like the scammers and try to fight them.

4) Some scammers try to use the forums to apply pressure and exort books.

5) No actual scams, books, or anything specific or useful appears in the article.

One of the points I was making was that the books were under attack and the scammers come out and try to take advantage of that.

Another about how quick people come to posting forums before trying to reslove their problems with the book in question.

Java- Maybe useless for you but not for others. I still agree with you about the last article I would love to name names and think they should be allowed in the forums for books to see but I guess there is legal issues involved with doing that.

Krackman-
No offense intended, but I think you've written much better and more informative posts.

I think you could have given some specific examples of the scams to watch out for and how a book can combat them. It would have been more interesting to explain how the scammers are using the DOS attacks to their advantage. Finally, it would have been useful to the posters here to give some examples of the types of scams that take advantage of the forum (and by extension, the posters) so we don't become unwitting accomplices.

Oh, one additional point: any suggestions for rules for books that would help prevent scams by closing loopholes?

These are the thing that would have made the article more interesting/useful.

Good posts Java.
Appreciate the effort Krackman, but, as said above, some details would be nice. Also, please remember that every "item" that comes to the site with a sportsbook has 2 sides. Just becuase a book says they weren't "aware" of the problem, doesn't mean it didn't exist.
