Lem Banker don't even belong in the same league as Ken White, Jimmy Vaccaro and other professional handicappers. Banker is a degenerate bust out. The only money he makes is off his book. Bottom line he SUCKS!

reverse box,

I'd have to disagree with you about Lem Banker. At the ripe old age of 70 plus, Lem is still a class act and I have met with him recently on several occasions.

Lem takes pride in his handicapping skills and does it the old fashioned way with a pencil and pen.

He was considered at one time to be the greatest handicapper of all time and his specialty has always been in the NFL...

Don't bash this man because he is one of the good guys...

The guy is a phony. I played his games a couple of years ago when he was advertising in the Fiest Schedule. He was the worst. I got murdered and to add salt to the wound, friends of mine in Vegas saw him out at the Fiesta hotel playing nickle keno machines. That is not bashing, that is telling it like it is. The guy is a fraud and don't even bet his own money. There are good respeceted guys in the Stardust contest. Banker shouln't even be mentioned in the same breath as Jimmy Vaccaro, Ken White or Dave Malinsky.

I`m really glad I made a resolution L Mo. not to make any overly derogatory remarks to people in this Forum. Otherise I`d call you a "simple minded co*ksucker". Since I have I won`t. We all slip a little as time marches on, and I`m sure Lem has also. I met him several times in 83 & 84 a total gentleman. Asked him who he liked a couple of times and if it was AFTER he bet he`d tell you. Made some nice $$ w/his pics. Read his book junior and learn something about life and the world of gaming. If you`re dumb enuff to pay for pics, don`t whine!

Lem is certainly one of the class acts. Its such a mistake to judge someone based on his picks over a short period of time in a paid service. He has long lived the high life in a top notch house and in years back was a big part of the local social scene. He got there betting on sports, not selling his picks. Back a few years he was a regular talking to all the KDWN shows out of the Stardust, he would come around and tell the world who he liked. After the show was over he would stay as long as there were people around and no idea or question was too dumb to answer. His book was one of the only pieces on the topic back then and it still has wisdom in it, but if you really wanted to see how sharp he was you only had to spend 30 minutes after the show in the Stardust where he held shop and would answer all our questions. He didn't have to do it, he had no obligation, but there he was talking to people that would pick his brain.

One of the times I was there and listening some guy make a comment like this, saying that he didn't believe he was a big winner, that no one could beat sports. Lem just said what a man wins or loses is his own business. Those that win look and act like losers to the outside world, those that lose look and act like winners. Those that are very successful and have confidence in always being among the best are the few that can hold their head up high and have reason to do it are the ones you want to follow. I could say it better myself.

Most of the sharps in Vegas will tell you lem is a fraud, but marketed him self very good. Silver says he met him. I have met lem a couple of years ago, and also met Goofy in Disney world and Bozo the clown at a state fair in Memphis. Banker is a total joke.

Silver ..clock his plays in the Stardust contest. The real handicappers will dust him. Here is some advice to a tripple sharp guy like your self. Fade Banker and bet Vaccarro's plays. Like I said, Vaccaro will bet his games. Lem don't bet, he markets himself.

Are you his accountant? Either you are that or you are one of JJ's posse of 25 is my guess. How can you possibly know what Lem's results have been over the years? And I love that comment "SOME FRIENDS OF MINE saw Lem playing nickel keno". Did these guys introduce themselves? There must be 200 guys in Vegas that look like Lem does.

Its one thing to state your opinion about someone, but to go out of your way to call someone a fraud should require a little more evidence than that.

Reverse, Lem is a classy guy that has been sharp with the NFL for ages, one that has done well in sports, but there is little secret that he uses contacts, and has eastern seaboard transplants for friends that give him a push for the large portion of his plays.

That's why they call it "being in the know".

Bagel vs. Donut, now there's a matchup..damn I'm hungry!

You better believe Lem bets his own plays. He
routinely makes $50-100K boxing bets and bets
about $5-30K on his college and pro games. You
have to realize he bets between 20-30 college
games a week and usually bets about 7-9 pro games and totals. He used to bet more but he
realizes the numbers have gotten tough. Lem lives well and probably doesn't have to work
that hard because he already has enough money to live comfortably.

He gives out his picks on Larry Grossman and KLAS TV-8 in Las Vegas so it's no mystery what
he wagers. He hasn't done as well in recent years as he has in the past. He hits about 54-55%. Nothing spectacular but enough to make a
living on if you wager high enough. He has gotten on unbelieveable streaks in boxing picking underdogs.

For a guy in his mid 70's he's doing pretty good. I don't think he is selling his plays
anymore through GJupdate. There is no longer
any mention of him on the website. Bottom line
is he gives his plays out for free on radio and
TV. He doesn't have gold star, 5 star, hundred
star, 1000 star, under the hat, under the toilet, smashmouth, plantinum, preferred plays.
No hype, No publication and No sweep. I think
you get my drift.
