Hitting the books that paid the extortion fees again?

lets face it, there is no sense hitting the books that didnt pay again, but what about the books that did? they paid once, why not twice or even three or four times.

I think the books that paid made a business descission to buy themselves some time. Installing the proper equipment to fend off these attacks takes time and co-operation from many people.

Of the major books that have bucked up so far I know they have taken the steps needed to secure their interests in the future.

I just wish they hadn't have bucked up, these pricks deserve nothing.

I heard in one instance a book paid the fees then later tried to add some safeguards. That pissed off the hackers and they then demanded another 10k based on the book trying to defend themselves from future attacks. LOL. Maybe they were insulted their word wasn't good enough that they wouldn't be attacked again.

Patrick you heard correct. They paid 30 dimes and were asked for another 20 a day later when they started to install safeguards.

Ransom notes wanted money sent WU to the good ol' CCCP.

No kidding, wow. Do they warn the places that pay them of doing this ahead of time? No new safeguards or else....

Rpm, good point why wouldn't they come back around playoff time and say "give us 30k more or you'll have no Super Bowl business" this is why you should pay the tech guys 1 time to install the safeguards instead of paying the hackers possibly 2 or 3 times.

I am still confused over some of this but i understand why none of these books can explain at this time. But I would think even in CCCP the police in Costa Rica could call the police there and track the money when it is picked up. Plus Western Union also has its own investigative teams.

Note to Russians hackers :
Dear Commies,
We kicked your ass once when you were a superpower; surely, we can kick it again now that you are a collective bunch of 3rd world "nations".

Knock the crap off before Will has your ugle little Russian heads jammed up your Commie asses.

Thank you.

Costa Rica Cop: Hello Russian Cop? Yes hackers are picking up money at western union today can you stop them?

Russian cop: Oh yes, ahhhhh, that money never made it to western union.

Costa rica cop: are you sure? western union here says it was picked up a few hours ago.

Russian cop: ahhh, let us check on that... how much did you send? $30,000 US? hmmm that is more than I make in 10 years... I'll make sure these hackers keep up the good work... I mean I'll get to work on these hackers.

Buddbyboy is right: if we have a problem with corruption with police in the U.S., it would be beyond my capacity for belief to imagine that the underpaid Russian police would never be in a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with these slithering Slavic scumbags, toasting the extortion success with chilled vodka and caviar.

I think this would make a great movie script, excpet you make the Hackers 16 year old kids. Then they get hunted down while there at school.

Who would play the hackers, and who would play the sportbook owner and bounty hunters?

That is the inherited problem with blackmail and the main reason to NEVER give into it. Once you give in, not only are they content, but know you are weak, which can lead to other attempts.
