This guy cannot continue to be the closer for this ballclub. He throws meat pitch after meat pitch....never a change of speed either. Darn near a 4.00 ERA and that is with alot of hard hit outs. This guy is gonna cost me a TV when I smash it in the playoffs watching this waterbug on the mound.

Kym doesn't inspire much confidence. He never has as a closer. With that in mind, I'm not at all surprised that he's wound up on the B-Sox.

Journey,

I'll take the Spaceman in Game 7 anytime. Bill Lee always came thru except for the famous eephus pitch he let hang for Tony Perez in the 75 Series.

I think he is the best option they have. All the pens of the AL contenders are flawed. The bats just have to get HOT

I think he would be great as the 4th starter on the team and hopefully they wise up, because he has no confidence as the closer.

oilman-This kid has lost his STUFF. He needs to regain his form of three years ago, which I dont see happening anytime soon. He throws consistant MEAT pitches.

He will be the fourth starter next year, but this year he is the closer.

He is as good as Guadado, Foulke, Borowski, and Worrell.

I don't know why Boston fans always just focus on the negative. This is the best chance the RedSox have had in almost 2 decades of make some serious waves in the postseason.

Bring on Oakland, we will POUND them in a 5 game series.

2DIMES- Am a die in the wool Red Sox fan and agree with you about Bosox fans being negative. Very seldom am I in this group. But this waterbug Kym is a disaster waiting to happen. The kid has no make-up to be a closer let alone the fact he throws 85mph MEAT. Much rather see 2 or 3 other guys down there in the bullpen be considered the main closer.

I disagree Fish, I think it is just a confidence thing. Those meatballs will become BB's if he is put in a more comfortable role.

After watching the Twins essentially end the ChiSox season the past three days. I have a feeling that the Yanks are going to be taken out again this year in the first round. The Twins are really playing good ball right now. Boston would have no problem hitting their pitching staff. Now if the Cubs could just sneak in, I like their chances in the NL.

It really would be great to see a BoSox-Cubs World Series. It could really spark interest in the sport again. The ratings would defintely be setting records.

I think he is relatively confident in himself, and doesn't seem to let things get to him.

In my opinion, there are much bigger issues with others in the pen.

But really all these teams this years are flawed, the Yanks setup men are even worse.

And look at Oakland's pen, they had to close a 2-1 game this week with Jimmy Mecir and his screwball. LMFAO!!!

That World Series where he almost blew it, and two other games he blew when I needed an EASY save for a big side win on a total, and now this latest fvck-up is why I do not like this pitcher. It doesn't mean he isn't good - it means that he's the last bastard I want to see in to nail a game down - is it the pressure, is it just fate, is it a payoff??? lol - I don't know and I don't care.

I have 2 nicknames for this poor guy:

Bung Hole Kim
Bung Hun Kim

Either one expresses perfectly how he's performed when it's counted the most. Kim goes beyond blowing a save - he 'bungholes' it. Probably the nicest guy on the planet, too - but to paraphrase Jack Nicholson in 'As Good as It Gets' ... "sell nice somewhere else - we're all stocked up here".

They should have AT LEAST let him blow the thing if it was to be blown, to bring in that jackass Embree, who is proven garbage, is unreal!!

The guy throws hard yes..but its straight as an arrow and not all that difficult to hit as witnessed most of the time he comes in. TERRIBLE management all over the place in that game..just horrid.

And to think i lost sleep over that miserable game...
