Blue Marlin Sportsbook....???

Saw an ad for this book. Any good ?? I know nothing about them. After reading their HORSE rules though it prompted me to ask this question of the board.

"WHY do books enter a competitive market shooting blanks?"

Here is their offer to horse guys:

16-1 on win, 8-1 on place & 4-1 on show....with 100-1 Max on exotics.

As the owner of a book you can choose to offer what you want; however, when you are so far off of the competition, why bother?

I have exotics that come in WEEKLY that pay $700..............who would accept $200. ?

Just a pet peeve.

Excellent place for the small player. $500 limits online. VERY QUICK payouts - ALWAYS. Never seen a single complaint about this place.

a small player bets $2.

He bets it on a trifecta.

He wins the trifecta and it pays $250. (small one)

He gets paid $200 !!!!

~~~~~not even talking about the SHOW bet rule of 4-1 which is CRIMINAL !!!!

I am glad to hear they are on the level - but is the cost for "fairness" that you get ripped off badly on the payouts?

Track payoffs are from a parimutuel pool where the bettor's money bet creates the odds. A small book that books horses cannot put itself in a position to pay out longshot type odds when they wrote no other bets on that race. 16-8-4 has been standard for decades.
