I know this would of been talked about 100 times or whatever but can someone push me in the right direction when choosing accom and poker games in LV.

If someone knows somewhere I can stay please let me know. I don't plan on spending much time at a hotel/place to stay so quality isn't important.

Thanks in advance.

Bellagio is the best by far provided you don't smoke or are willing to leave the table if you have to.
Get a cheap room near it, say the Barbary Coast, Monte Carlo, Boardwalk, or Imperial Palace.
Mirage has an ok room, and play at the Horsesh*t at last resort if you can't play either of these.

You can get all the action you want and reasonably priced room at The Orleans, on Tropicana off the strip. It helps to have a car. Holdem to 6/12 and Omaha/8 at 4/8.

OTOH you can spend much more for a room, getting the poker rate, at Bellagio and play from 4/8 up to 60/120 or higher.

I second the recommendation of the Orleans.

For bigger games Bellagio and Mirage.

Thanks. I'll be checking out The Orleans. I won't have a car - taxi's, buses and walking will be fine.

I'm a bit of a surfer, I've heard about wave pools in Vegas, are they good enough to surf? I guess if they are you can hire surfboards there?

Some info on good value places to eat would be appreciated.

I guess I should of specified. I won't be playing any higher than 10/20. Bellagio, The Orleans anywhere else to check out for low lim games?

Thanks again

take the free shuttle from the Orleans to the Barbary Coast and you'll be right in the middle of the strip ill.

I agree, stay at the Orleans if your not a small high roller. Good food, and a nice poker room. Easy access to the strip one mile away. Damn, getting homesick thinking about it. Oh well, Vegas doesnt have Busch Gardens.

Mandalay Bay (for sure) and also (I think) the Wet and Wild water theme park have wave pools.

I'm pretty sure MB never ramps their waves up high enough for any kind of surfing or W & W either.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Coincidentally, this topic was just raised again elsewhere the other day.

Apparently, Mandalay Bay does crank up the waves some for surfing competitions once or twice yearly, but not on any regular basis.

Sorry I can't be any more help than that...

I would suggest you definetly checkout Mandalay Bay and Orleans they both have really good 4-8 games. Bellagio/Mirage have 4/8 but they take a 4 dollar rake and no jackpot as opposed to 3 dollar rake/1 dollar jackpot at other places. If you are playing 10/20 then your only two choices are really bellagio/mirage.

I would suggest Orleans from what your limits are. Higher limits Bellagio is the place.

If quality is not a great concern try the Gold Spike or Union Plaza downtown.

Also, if you are looking for a room near the Bellagio check out San Remo they are right next to Tropicana and across the street from MGM. You can walk to pretty much anything. Also, if you need a good weekend rate next to that is a motel 6 which I believe has the same rates on weekends as weekdays. Just some good options for someone who doesn't care about where they are staying. Also all are very close to the airport so not much in taxi fare.

While I am a big fan of the Orleans if you don't gamble there much and hop around like I do you may not like it without a car. They do have a shuttle to I believe Barbary Coast but I like freedom and you would then have to take a Cab everywhere which then would be just as cheap to rent a car from the airport.
