Hey - have you checked out all these betting exchanges where you are betting against other bettors? There's a few Betfair, Betdaq, Tradesports and Sporting Options. Betfair has got loads of different markets and I've been making stacks on the betting in play on tennis - this is the nuts!

What needs to happen is they all need to join into one exchange..like the stock market.

The problem with exchanges is there is no liquidity and shut downs etc.

One day, one day there will be a single exchange and this idea will be really good.

Welcome seenthelight. You certainly have "seenthelight" - i've been telling these guys about the exchanges for a while especially Betfair. Have had an account with them for about 3 years with no probs and fantastic odds. If you think the tennis is a blast i used to play the in play horse racing in the UK - not for the feint hearted!

wallstreetcappers - you are completely right - but betfair is massive and controls about 90% of the betting exchange market and the liquidity is all there and hence the best odds

betfair is the one - only prob is that US customers are not accepted but Canadians are - so move to the land of the mooses or get a friend there at least - its worth the hassle to get the account - beleive me

RPM - Tradesports are about 5% of the size of betfair and hence you don't get great odds there and many times your order doesn't get matched up. Betfair is the one

I have an account with tradesport and they have MANY weaknesses.

They do not have the liquidity to make all games fair and competitive. They profile one or two games, the rest have a spread of Bid 40 Ask 90.

Also, they go blank all the time during the time you WANT them to be active. Say the game last night for example. The Bears got that long TD to close the gap to 8 pts. Right when the TD is scored for 30 plus seconds the betting screen goes dead..no bid or ask..what the hell kind of market is that??

I will check out this betfair, but I would NOT recommend tradesport for active exchange betting. For long term prop betting, they are just fine.

Bet exchanges are like betting on speed..the rush can be unreal! But you can also lose everything in the matter of seconds..

yes tradesports hasn't really got the liquidity yet - betfair does and the bid/ask are very tight but big problem is that they don't take US customers

valueman,

Thanks for that tidbit. I noticed the Euro setup on the site..too bad!

I dont know if the stubborn books would ever join forces to make more $$$ versus doing their own thing.

Books..hello..if you have a central location and act like the Nasdaq, that each book has its own market maker symbol..you can make a TON of dough!!!!!

Like they are listening..

they do have it euro set up but they do have an odds converter which helps a bit - could be better! but i guess most of their customers are in europe so its to be expected. they are doing a lot of US stuff and their liquidity tends to be very strong on the day of the game than too early - good to get -104 rather than -110

Its so obvious the poster "seenthelight" and "valueman" are one in the same. These betting exchanges have little liquidity so it is not worth it to me. Play at WSEX interactives.

hey - i'm sorry for mentioning for them. Let's get things straight:

1 - I don't work with them.

2 - I do over 90% of my betting with them and in my 19 years of betting experience they are the best things that's come along - not to say someone else couldn't do a better job and that they are perfect!

3 - I don't like seeing fellow bettors doing their dough needlessly and betting with bad books - why bet a horse at +500 when you can bet it at +600.

4 - bettors need to stick together as far as i see and if i can help a bettor make more money by betting smart then that makes me feel that we've got on over on the bookie.

5- stupid comments like tradesports and wsex being better get my goat up as they are a joke compared to the one i bet with - where is the factual base to their arguments?

6 - if you want your forum members to continue to do their dough or not maximise their profits then don't let them be aware of the company i mentioned - i know they don't take US customers and have said that many times - can't excatly put more of a minus than that so it's not as if i'm being that pro them - is it?
