I just called there (vip sports) wanting to sign up and asked if they used prepaid atm as a funding option. The lady transferred me to the dept or something and I spoke with another gentleman, I asked him the same question and he said no they dont accept atm cards. I said prepaid atm is not just an atm card it is an online money transfer service. He said no we don't use that. I just simply asked why, and he said and I quote "I can answer your stupid question after the game I am trying to help people sign up". Then he hung up on me.

Surely I will not ever play there now after this treatment. I did fund my prepaid account expecting to deposit but certainly not there now even if I could. I can only imagine how they would treat you if you asked for a withdraw. They would probly say "were too busy now for your stupid withdraw call later".

Just wanted to see your guys views on this and if you have ever experienced the same thing.

You asked him if he took prepaid ATM as a funding option and he said no, then you asked him why. You should have checked the website for their deposit methods, I'm sure they are on it. VIP has always been a solid shop and...I gotta go I'll finish my answer after the game!!

Yea I am sure that is good buisness sense to be rude to a potential customer by calling him stupid, and hanging up on them.

With the way things are going now for the online gaming industry they should treat new signups like gold. I was not rude I just simply wanted to know why.

If it went as stated, then it was unprofessional.

PrePaid ATM's ownership has a shady enough background that many shops refuse to do business with them.

Your experience with VIP is certainly not indicative of that organization. They are rock solid and are typically known for having quality customer service.

Obviously the guy that you spoke to at VIP is a total idiot. However, I can assure you that Allistair has never, and never will, condone this type of attitude from one of his employees. You may not always agree with Allistair's response to a question but he will always treat you with respect and patience. Why dont you call VIP and ask for Allistair and explain this unfortunate occurence to him. I am sure that he will appreciate your dilemna and will bend over backwards to assist you.

Honestly I am a bit hesistant about calling again. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. But I did not do or say anything that would call for the treatment I received. It just makes me wonder who I am dealing with when I get spoken to that way.

But thanks for the suggestion, perhaps I will ask to speak to the manager.

Love to see a transcript of that conversation. They did awnser your question and were probably not in the mood to debate you. I would have to see it to believe it. I don't like it when clerks are rude. Well trained clerks know what to do. Rude clerks need to go to work for the phone company or something.

I do not know if they record all the correspondence between the customer and the reps but if they do then the manager should have access to it.

I did not want a debate, I just wanted to know why. Does not make sense to me. If I owned a site I would want to offer the most deposit options for the customer.

As for where a person is rude like this should be working I guess is your opinion. The way this person spoke to me sounded like he was the person who called users who chargedback their deposits to rough them up.

BaseballGuy,

It sounds like we really messed up here, and I can only apologize in the absence of any information to the contrary.
We do record all calls, and I would really appreciate your co-operation to find out what went wrong here.
Which 800 number did you call, and at what time did you call (the more precise you can be, the more it will help me locate the conversation)?

Many thanks for your help on that - I will be happy to look into this and get back to you privately - my email address is alistair@vipsports.com

FWIW we do not accept PrepaidATM - that is a policy based on our extensive due diligence process, however we do offer many other methods of deposit and withdrawal.

Also, since I am here - our sites are back to normal more or less after the fun and games of the weekend - if anyone still has problems, please do me a favor and let us know by phone or email. We have a solution we can offer for you all,

Thanks to you all for your patience - and to you BaseballGuy for bringing this up - albeit on a public forum

I called VIP on Saturday to ask how much could be deposited via Firepay. The guy said "any amount you want". I said this could not be possible, as every book has limits on Firepay, so I'd appreciate if he'd confirm the policy with a manager.

He put someone else on the phone who asked me to repeat my question for him. I did so, and he bellowed into the phone something like "are you here to argue? what's your point?"

I said "I'm simply trying to learn your rules, and the previous fellow told me something that I'm not sure is true. Can you tell me if you have limits on Firepay deposits?"

Without even giving me the answer to my question, this guy screamed something like "if all you want to do is argue, we don't have time for you". He then hung up.

I then called back and learned from someone else at VIP that the Firepay limits are 1K or 1.5K per week (or something like that, but certainly not "any amount you want")

Go listen to your tapes, Alistair. You have problems there.

Some of your people are very unprofessional

VIP is one of the most respected books in the Offshore industry and Alistair is a true gentleman. Period.

When he says he will personally look into the situation he will do it.

I take the occasion to thank the VIP group and Pinnacle for the support they have both provided to Royal this past month of July.
