5-HE HURTS MY CREDIBILITY BY CONSTANTLY ASSOCIATING HIMSELF WITH ME, AS IF WE WERE IN BED TOGETHER...
6-HE FLAMES AND INSULTS OTHERS...

JJ was a clown and he was not meant to be taken seriously. That being said he was entertaining and at times very funny.
From a business perspective you absolutely did the right thing. His "lynch the book" campaigns before the facts were in was not only NOT funny, but quite annoying. To be honest, posters like JJ are the type of posters that will chase away possible advertisers, that is a fact.
Probably not the most popular move with some of your readers, but the readers don't pay your bills.

I didn't find him entertaining at all.
His relentless attacks on books without any evidence were unprofessional and imature.

Well said DickyW and Vegas. I agree with you 100%. Shrink you did the right thing for all the reasons stated in your post. This guy was a joke, and very annoying at times. I did not take him serious ever and I was his biggest basher, and it was nothing personal with jj, I just thought he was bringing down the credability of this site.

These are the correct reasons why he should be banned in my opinion. I have never had any dealings with him but he seems to have no idea what he is talking about and it does not stop him from throwing madcap statements into the ring.

I'd have to say 'yes' - JJ knew the score, had been there before, and maybe it's just his shtick to act 'mentally unbalanced' at times - I don't know - but it would probably be his 'credibility-killing' ability more than anything else that had to be addressed.
I cannot understand why JJ, having been banned before, wouldn't take the hint - unless he simply is either too stupid to understand (I don't believe that) or he doesn't give a shit - in which case, JJ has only himself to blame.
The last time I checked, JJ wasn't the owner of this forum - if he was, he'd be free to conduct himself however he wanted. If not, and you ignore past bans and warnings, there should be no shock when the door slams again on your backside.

Perhaps the best decision in Rx history. Those who found JJGold funny probably never were libeled by him.
He reminded me of Joe McCarthy the way he would belittle, badger and lie about people and books. He is reckless, irresponsible and yet because of the Internet was given a chance to spew his venom. The Internet is such a great tool, but people like JJGold try to ruin it.
The site was losing quality posters and credibility was being drained every time JJ posted.
Shrink made the right decision. It should have been made a lot sooner, but Shrink bent over backwards to be fair to someone who is not fair himself. Now, of course, JJGold is off flaming Shrink and this site at other posting forums.
The key here is Shrink must show the backbone to stick with this decision. DO NOT LET this guy back in.
