Just like last year, we will have a great free baseball playoff contest right here in the Offshore Forum. It's going to be a great one, STAY TUNED Glaken..

Last years playoff one was a success, and this years will be even better with all these posters we have now..

We will have to find a sponsor. Any book or books interested in being the sponsor for the

Official Rx Baseball Playoffs Contest- 2003 Edition?. Maybe the winner can get a free account with a rollover requirement at your book or something.. Thanks..

I'm sure Kenny will get this thing going by the weekend..

Glake,

The only thing we can do for a playoff is like last year...

Pick world series winner- 6 pts
Predict the (exact) World Series matchup- 4 pts
Pick the World Series MVP- 2 pts.

______

Whoever gets the most points wins the pot. Do you have any other suggestions? I think this is the only way to go, and the best way to go..

Hey Sick,

I've only been in this forum for literally a "few" hours but at least your honest "kid."

I'm gonna sleep on it and try and come up with a good idea. I'm going on the premise that we can all afford $500 and limit the contest to a limited amount of players (say 20.) Then lets throw some ideas in the pit; like yours or anyone elses. Let the forum choose. G

Why dont we all post a $100 entry fee just to keep people from posting with multiple user ID's. Maybe even $50 is fine. It wouldnt have to be an entry fee if gamblers avenue wanted to let us bet with the money and be in the contest!!!

How about this, gamblersavenue pays ALL fees of $200 deposit and more with western union. Why dont we make this a $200 post up tournament where the $200 is ours to keep and bet with. Heck they will probably even throw in a nice bonus for us who enter the contest for this purpose.

Give us some ideas MIKE on post up bonuses to get peopel fired up about the contest. I say that a $200 post up will get us at least 20-50 players.

THESE GUYS ARE GIVING FREE MONEY GUYS EVEN WITH THE POSTUP RULE!!!!!!!

This should be fun as we will call it the

Gamblers Avenue World Series Playoff Contest 2003 Edition..

Playersonly,

How else can we have a contest besides predicting who will win.. There's no other way. I'd like to hear suggestions from others.

IMO, this is the ONLY way we can do it..

Pick world series winner- 6 pts
Predict the (exact) World Series matchup- 4 pts
Pick the World Series MVP- 2 pts.

________

Player with the most points, wins the pot.. Unless you have a better idea... Anyone?

Well I never said to have the contest another way, just a post up contest is real nice for GA and our future sponsers.

I think that ALL CONTEST should be at least be a post up contest if not an entry fee contest.

We could also have a daily contest where you just post your plays over the playoffs. Minimum amount of plays would have to be 25 plays and maximum number would be 40 plays.

Should be about 50 games and about 100 bets counting over/unders, so wouldnt be that hard.

And it works better for the sponser to have EXPOSURE every single day in teh fourms since htey are giving the money.

I would rather the contest work this way where we just make the picks using the moneyline. No runlines needed and people can post their own results and the winner would be checked at the end

Picking the winner of the world Series nice as well and maybe everyone could post their picks for the winner and so forth on the first day and they would get 6 units bonus for the winner, 4 units for teams and 2 for the MVP as well as picking the games everyday.

Obviously, each game would only be worth 1 unit

Giving it the old charoty bump.

What do you think gamblersavenue about a post up tournament?? You might even generate some new players out of this as well.

I guess that players who have at least $400 in their account by the time the tournament starts would qualify as well. In other words, no need to reup if you are already an active player betting over $200 a day

Hey playersonly69,

I agree with you on the way the contest should be run. All we need now is to hear from GA and decide what the amount should be, $200 sounds good but as you stated earlier maybe $50 or $100 might generate more new business at GA. I will have to open an account there myself.

only thing about post up contests is that no one ever wants to pony up the cash. I can't see many people getting in a abaseball contest if they have to post up $200, even if they get to keep the money. Too much hassle for most, I imagine.

but, persoanlly I like the idea, count me in whatever is decided....

It's going to be hard enough to get people to join for free, let alone post up 200. A lot of people on the board (i'd say even 90%) don't have time to waste in these contests, or want to be bothered by it.

So getting 200 will not be an easy task, UNLESS.. you want a contest with only 6 people in it and say the winner gets the 1200 dollar pot, but then again, isn't this illegal.?

Hey Sick,

I agree for the most part; what was the pot last year?

The only advantage I can see for a post up is that it would be taken more seriously.

Either way lets get it going, I would like to hear GA's thoughts.
