Bad news for Texan racetracks, as millions of dollars is lost to internet betting sites—even though internet wagering is ILLEGAL in the lone star state.

Online companies like Youbet.com and Brisbet.com welcome Texans to place internet bets on horse races. Ohio-based company AmericaTabs handles the wagers from BristBET.

“That kind of betting is illegal. It’s a local law enforcement issue,” said Tom Kelly, a spokesperson for the state attorney general office.

Despite the ban in the State, no one or no betting organisation has not yet been prosecuted for Internet wagering in Texas. Racetracks in States with authorised account wagering of online betting, usually receive compensation in the form of ‘source marketing fees’ for any potential wagers lost from betting online.

Mike Weiss, general manager of AmericaTab and Beulah Park, said the wagering service has received no notification that accepting wagers from Texans is illegal.

Charles Champion, chief executive of Youbet.com, said he was also unaware of the Texas law, and vowed that Youbet.com would fight it if challenged.

Not even one Texas Racetrack received any compensation since the ban on internet betting.@@
