I've been hanging around here and MW for three years now...

Not once have I seen any of you guys blast Canbet for false advertising!!!

I just got around to signing up with them last night...
What did I find, NOT 107 on each NFL game but games at -110/-105!!!
I even saw games listed at -115 and Even.
What happened to -114 and Even like you adverstise???

I find that practice just f**king WRONG!!!!

If you advertise -107 then you makes games --109/-105 or any equivalent of a 14 cent line!!!
But YOU do not go to a 15 cent line, PERIOD!!!!!
You don't see Pinnacle doing this kind of shit!!!

I don't care if they have NEVER stiffed or slow paid a player or if they keep the money at Fort Knox, making thier line (when needed) 15 cents is flat WRONG!!!

Then on top of that....
They look like the are offering a 20% sign-up bonus.
At least that is what the banner says!!
But once you read thru the "rules" the max bonus is $100!!!!
So if you send more than $500 as I did, all you get is the dinky $100!!!!

So Canbet...you get one shot at my money unless those 110/105 and 115/Even games go to a price that matches YOUR EVERY DAY OFFER OF -107!!!!

Canbet is in the top 4 books in the world rankings today. I still believe though that the majority of games are lower juice than the majority of books and bases they have real competive lines.

Canbet promotes -107 and that is what they should book!!!! Period!!!

LV711- In all honesty LV711, it seems you are making a big stink about very little. I mean cmon, so they occassionally use a 15 cent line instead of a 14 cent line. Is this really worth getting your undies in a bundle over?? Seems like there are alot of other concerns with other books than having to worry about Canbet adding an extra penny to what allready is basically the lowest vig in the industry. The actual SPREAD is much more important than what any ONE CENT edge can give you.
HOWEVER, I agree with you and do not understand why they do this when they do indeed advertise -107. Maybe the bookmaker that is on duty at the time just doesnt have a clue....which might be a good thing for you. I will pay closer attention in the next couple of weeks and see if I can spot anything else that is unusual....since it may interest you. Thanks for giving us your thoughts on the subject. JJ, for one the is constantly harping on the Greek price gouging...
I really thought this would something you could agree with since that is what Canbet is doing...price gouging!!!!

They advertise -107 but don't always deal it!!

This matter should be a slam dunk for even a ROOKIE like you to see JJ!!!

And Fish..nice to see the PAID RX Mod standing by one of their books!!! Problems start with books when they lie and deceive!!!

If I owned this place (RX) just for that ONE PENNY I wouldn't take them on as a advertiser until the booked ALL bets at -107!!!!

So boys, if you were in the check-out line buying a CD at $15 but the clerk said "nope Mister JJ/Fish the price is really $16.00."
What would you do?

If they were advertising $15 and they were selling it for $15.01.......I would gladly pull the penny out of my pocket and give it to the cashier because I am not a tight *ss. Especially when the cheapest I can find it elsewhere is 16.55

I haven't posted in a looooooooong time. But I can't ignore this one!

Canbet is one of the best books out there. Quick service, solid lines, low juice, great Web interface. I'll bet multi-sport parlays from time to time, and Canbet's Web interface makes it very easy.

Complaining about 1-cent is a bit nit-picky. There are probably 400 books that deserve more complaints than Canbet.

If we let ANY book promote booking at -107 when some games may be higher, that is the first step in letting "a" "any" book shaft us on the next "small" matter!!!

My point is a matter of principle, it is wrong!! Canbet should be held accountable for false advertising!!

Again, WE don't see Pinnacle promoting -105 and then see games -111/even do we? NO!!

And we shouldn't see Canbet being at -115/even when they say they book at -107!!!

There is a line on the Canbet homepage:

CANBET are the Price Leaders on all American Sports: we bet to -107 on NFL & NBA

There is NO *** asterisk *** saying "some game may be slightly higher!!!"

Is it really any different than books that advertise a dime-line for baseball? Some books keep the dime-line to -130, some books keep it to -150, etc.

And to be honest with you, I don't see how any book can be guilty of price gouging. There are sooooo many books out there. If you don't like the lines/juice from a book, just move your money to another book. Behold the wonders of a free market! Power to the people!

They don't say "-107 every game every day" do they? Then case dismissed, they say we bet to something and about 90% or more of the time NFL lines are -107 both ways, why quibble with the one or two games that aren't? Those variances are almost exclusively on NFL games at 3 points, where you see all kinds of creative lines out there from different books so they aren't exactly being radical on those couple of points.

Canbet has never said it wouldn't move that takeback, I remember when they started they discussed it as a scaled version, where the house edge is maintained at roughly the same percentage. Since the house percentage goes down as the line goes up, they are keeping their word as to what exactly they said they would do and that is book to -107.

but if it's that they keep the take constant as the straddles go up,

it is wrong, their juice increases as the straddles go up, and it hasn't changed in over two years.

-107/-107 is 3.38%
-105/-115 is 4.71%
-130/+108 is 4.60%
-132/+160 is 4.64%

Ok so maybe it doesn't go up constantly as the straddles do,

but you ain't getting that 3.38% at anything other than -107, and I seem to recall as the ML's get higher it gets worse.

I am NOT talking about baseball!!!
So quit using baseball examples!!!

I am simply speaking about Football where the line on some games is -115/even!!

Canbet's ads say -107...
Not sometimes as I pointed out already but -107 All the time for FOOTBALL!!!!

So when they book a game -115/even that is not -107!!!!

This isn't rocket science guys...
107 should mean 107 on EVERY footgame!!
Not 107.5 on some games!!!

Geeesshh ALL of us could retire off of that .5% they earn off of those games!!!!
It may be peanuts to our individual bets but their bottom line gets a big boost!!

When we let the Big books get away with this shit...that just means some new book will come in saying, "well Canbet does it that way."

Again I will point that a class shop like Pinnacle doesn't go to -111/even do they? NO!!
They book -105 on EVERY game!!!

If Canbet wants to change their ads to MOST football games at -107 fine!!!
But they don't..
So I feel they are out of line!!!

And yes, when my rollover is done or I bust out, I will be out of this joint!!!
